Listen to The Children
When I look at a patch of Dandilions,
I see a bunch of weeds that are going
        to take over my garden.
My children saw flowers for Mom and
blowing white fluff you can wish on.
When I looked at a drunk and he smiled
at me, I saw a smelly dirty person who
probably wanted money and, I look away.
My children saw a smile and, they smiled
                       back
When I heard music I love, (and I know
I can't carry a tune) I sit and listen.
My children felt the beat and moved to it.
They sang out the words and, if they didn't
know them, they made them up.
When I felt the wind, I braced myself
against it. I felt it messing up my hair and
pulling me back as I walked.
My children closed their eyes spread their
arms and flew with it until they fell to the
              ground laughing.
When I saw a puddle, I stepped around it.
I saw muddy shoes and dirty carpet.
My children sat in it. They saw dams to
build and rivers to cross and worms to
                  play with.
Our children taught us a lot and, somethings
we didn't see. Enjoy the little things in life,
for one day, you might look back and realise,
        They were the biggest things.
