Gabrielle

Born in the small town of Poteidaia in Northern Greece, Gabrielle decided to leave her family and her betrothed to join the Warrior Princess Xena in a life of adventures fighting for the greater good. Soon afterwards, when they encountered the Amazons, Gabrielle risked her life to protect Terreis, an Amazon Princess. Before dying, Terreis gave Gabrielle her right of caste. Thus the young bard of Poteidaia became Princess and learned how to fight with a staff.

One winter later, when Gabrielle returned to her tribe, Velasca was ruling after having killed Melosa in the Royal Challenge. Fortunately for the Amazons, Velasca had to relinquish the throne to Gabrielle who was the rightful heir. Once Velasca was defeated and Gabrielle and Xena were to leave, Ephiny became Regent and ruled in her friend’s place.

After Ephiny died, Gabrielle led the Amazons in a fight against the Romans. She then gave Chilapa her right of caste.

Many more winters passed until Gabrielle was truly tested as Queen. She was given command in a suicidal war against Bellarophon, the son of Artemis. This was indeed a hard time for her as many great Amazons were killed, many of which belonged to different tribes.

Queen Gabrielle will always be remembered as one of the wisest women ever to lead the Amazon Nation.
