Coaches,
We write to clarify our policy regarding JVLD one more time.  After the announcement we made last week, many concerned coaches contacted us, reminding us that many regional leagues allow coaches discretion in determining whether juniors with over two years of experience should debate JV or Varsity.  We thought long and hard about these requests, and although we are somewhat hesitant to alter the policy this close to the tournament, we feel that we should have a policy that accommodates regional variations and coach discretion.  Therefore, JVLD will now be open to juniors who already have 2 years of experience.  We emphasize that JVLD is a learning division and students who are in any way too advanced for that environment should not be placed there. For example, debaters who reached elimination rounds in JV LD at this tournament or any other national tournament last year are should not debate JVLD this year.  However, we respect your autonomy to best determine how your students can be best educated.  It is our sincere hope that this policy will not be abused. You may alter your registrations accordingly until next Monday.
