Emergency Response Teams

Overview

Emergency Response Teams are the managed response the Court of Infinite Ages applies as defensive procedures. Whenever the Yamahasu Pagoda or any other holding of the Court comes under attack, the ERTs are the preferred method of response. They may also be employed for offensive measures, but that is strictly up to those involved.

ERTs are comprised of five classifications of persons rather than pre-determined individuals. Due to the nature of Court activities and duties, it is not functionable to set members in dedicated teams. This is because at any given emergency there is no guarantee that all members of such a team would be present. By grouping Courtmates by classification of skill and ability rather than name, this helps prevent such disorganization.

Classifications

There are actually six classifications. However, there should only be five members to any given ERT. The sixth classification is comprised of support and reserve members who may fill in a hole should there not be enough to form the team in the first place, or should a team member fall in battle. The classifications are as follows:

Commander
The team's leader, this person should be able to demonstrate at least some skill in two or more of the other classifications' areas of expertise. But most importantly, a Commander is someone who can, through talent or experience, get a group to do what needs to be done.

Warrior
Quite simply, this person's job is to be the best fighter for the team, to be first at the scene of the attack or defense. The Warrior should be the best fighter on the team. He may also take the point on a counter-attack assault instead of the Commander, as necessary.

Mystic
The Mystic is the person who's magical and/or spiritual expertise exceeds his teammates. He is able to enact offensive and defensive spells of various natures to support his teammates or destroy enemies on a level physical combat cannot. He may also be able to affect the spirit worlds in the event his teammates cannot. In such esoteric conflicts, the Mystic may take team leadership if necessary.

Scout
This teammate's duty is simple -- observation of enemy movements and the reporting of such to the team. The Scout should be an expert at stealth tactics of one kind or another. And in situations where sneaking is important, the Scout may take the lead as necessary.

Healer
The Healer's job is plain and simple: keep the team healthy. Healers should be skilled magically and/or mundanely in this aspect. Since almost everyone who fits this classification also has other skills, they can help support the entire team in whatever endeavor is at hand.

Support
Those classified as Support do not actually member an ERT. They stay in the vanguard of the Courtly holding in question, out of harm's way, providing any supplies or communications that the team may need with other teams or Court-mates. Support members may also sit in as "reserves", filling a hole in an ERT as needed.

ERT Rosters

Below is a list of everyone in the Court as assigned by classification. This list is posted on every floor of the pagoda for easy and immediate reference in an emergency situation. This list is also subject to continuous update, as new members join and old members leave or even more unfortunately perish in service. Furthermore, if a member feels his skills best suit him in another classification, he can petition the Council for it to be changed. (OOC: Petitions will always be accepted.)
