Avatar items will change your physical appearance, but more importantly, they add statistics to your character such as more attack and/or defense power. They can also effect how far your shot "digs" into the ground, how much gold you recieve for doing things, or increase/decrease the delay for your next turn.
The main downside to this game would be the LAG when someone is disconnected from a game. The server is stupid, and takes a long time to comprehend that this person has left the game. So you all will sit there and wait while it figures out that they're no longer there.
The game was made by a Korean company called Softnyx (you might remember them from making RaGNaRoK Online* (MMORPG) and sometimes the translation is bad, but you can understand what they mean to say.
Overall, it's fun and highly addicting and non-violent. There's no blood or gore, but there's a bit of a learning curve, so don't pass this off as another kiddy game.
