Cosmopolitan (Fall '98) Look familiar? Paul first flashed his baby blues well before ascending into total hunkdom. He was peddling Pampers at the ripe old age of 2. "You name the product and I probably hawked it as a kid," laughs Walker, 24. But unlike most former child actors, time has been good to Walker, if not downright sensational. After a high school hiatus from acting, the sun-kissed California native managed to make an almost seamless transition from commercial kid to big-screen big-leaguer. His new movie, 'Pleasantville' -- about two modern day siblings sucked into a 1950s black-and-white sitcom-couldn't be a more perfect vehicle for this mover and shaker in the making. You can also catch the steely eyed star in the teen smuggling flick, 'Brokedown Place' (due out next year) playing boyfriend to Claire Danes. So what would this up and coming wonder be doing if he hadn't had an acting-bug relapse? "Probably studying marine biology," says Walker. Starfish over stardom? We say he made the right choice. |
