A Self-Evaluation Letter

It is hard to decide which ones are my best essays as I often find my short paragraphs written in the notepads are better than my summated assigned essays.  The good essays, I decide, are the essays that relate to my daily life.  The topics may be about my schools or my relationships with the other people on the campus.  The first two essays are not the assignment required for my class, they are the opinions I wrote in my journal in order to write the class assignment.  Interesting enough, I find them are worthy to be read and reread over and over again because the first drafts come right from the bottom of heart without the reshaping or re-editing on them.  I love my first drafts the best.  And the first two essays, one will be reading, are directly copied from my in-class journal.  And the third essay was written in a morning from 12:30 am to 5:25am.  Why I mention the third essay is done in a particular morning is that I feel the whole paper is a consistent research paper, unlike what I usually do, chopping the paper into pieces and knowing not what I am talking about.  So, the best research paper I have with me, I think, is the one I have just finished it, which takes only an-over-night to finish it.  In doing the real research papers, the procedure will be more complicate than what I have done in these days.  I simply show you, as you will be grading my portfolio, that I do have the abilities to write the worthy reading papers.

Three topics in the contents: “Love”, “A Problem from Taking History in CSUSB”, and “Are the E-mails Trustworthy”.  The first essay “Love” is a describing essay, a description and a definition of what is love.  It’s easy for a

student to say, I love my teacher because he is tall and humorous.  But if the professor assigns a student to do a research on a topic that the student does not want to think about, will the student love the professor still.  My definition of love is not just that I love my professor because he is tall and humorous: but, I do love my professor, and I mean I do.  And the second essay is the experience I have from taking history classes in two different universities, from UCR and CSUSB.  The second essay is writing about two images, the image of taking history class in UCR and the image of taking history class in CSUSB.  I bear in my mind how these two images are similar and how these two images are different from one another.  Such a comparing and contrasting ability, which I have bared in my mind from writing the first two essays, directly empowers me to write the research papers.  The third essay is a research paper, entitled, “Are the E-Mails Trustworthy”.  I quote a story written by Meghan Daum, and I take out a truth from studying on the story.  And then, I back up the truth with the sufficient evidences from my research.  Not as a professional writer doing a research paper, I just point out how I can do my research.  The paper is not a long one.  But, I think, the language is plan, and the essay is logical and easy to read for any lady who wants to know how much she can rely on the e-mails for a good relationship with her partner.

My progress, from the class English 306, begins from writing one image, grows up to writing two images, and it expands to writing a truth by reading a store.  I think, I am doing pretty well in the class English 306.
