The Red Scare Disscusion Section

1. The factors that contributed to the second Red sare were the fear of Communism.
2. The politics of anticommunism were the capitalism, nationalism, Pan-Arab nationalism, Islamics.
3. Richard Nixon and Joseph McCarthy able to capture the American public with their anticommunism rhetoric was the rise of GNP 45% up, from 1945 to 1960s.
4. Truman participate in the official purge of Communists was that Truman required all government employees to be the loyalists.
5. Eisenhower’s personal and publc stand on McCarthyism: Eisenhower as a soldiger, was suspected to be a communist. But in the Army McCarthy hearing in 1954, Eisenhower was not found guilty. The public rejoice with the news.
6. The ways that the repression of Communists pervaded American society were: first, HUAC violated to the 5th Amendment the right of priviacy when people refused to tell the other names of communists. Second, Joseph McCarthy caused actors of Hollywood, writers of Hollywood to lost jobs, which was a violation to the First Amendment, about the freedom of speech. And, because of the MaCarthism and the fear of communists and the fear of the radicalism, the anti-communists crusade caused the unease of the American, still some people were locked in their individual dark places, causing the psychological problems for the American individuals.
