Tuesday October 01- Baghdad: By now, everyone knows that the "newest" conflict in the world is between the US and Iraq, over weapons of mass destruction. Iraq has allowed Un weapons inspectors in the country, but why can't president Bush trust Hussein's word? Well, one reason could be the family history involved. Everyone knows about the Persian Gulf conflict, when Saddam decided to take what he believed was his, oil fields in kuwait. So, the other Bush decided to send troops, bomb Iraq for a few days, and therefore "settle" the problem. Now, the current President Bush wants war with Iraq, basically if the UN goes in and finds weapons or not. And he also claims that Saddam has been helping Al Qaida get weapons and training, which may be true, but I doubt his evidence is all that solid. Oh well, a real war with Iraq might be interesting, unlike the Afghanistan Operations, which seemed like a tiny mismatch to me. I don't know, the richest, most powerful country in the world, against a country who believes that 1980's russian rifles are hi-tech. Anyways, if the US does wrongfully attack Iraq without UN approval, it will only hurt the US in the long run. |
