Girard Family History Hormidas Girard, born in Biddeford, Maine on July 16,1889; died December 11, 1940. Adelia (Laliberte) Girard, born in St. Norbert d’Artabasca, Canada on April 6, 1888; died June 13, 1963. Hormidas and Adelia were married in Somersworth, New Hampshire on May 29, 1911 at the ages of 22 and 23 respectively. They were the parents of 15 children—14 births; one set of twins. All were born at home in Sanford, Maine, except Doris and Donald who were born in Worcester, Massachusetts (Doris at home and Donald at City Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts. Children of Hormidas and Adelia Girard Lillienne, born April 12, 1912; died in 1918 Beatrice Blanche, born April 25, 1913; died November 15, 2000 Juliette Marie, born May 30, 1914; died August 13, 1973 Lionel Paul Emil, Second Lieutenant, U.S. Army, born January 25,1916; died May 25, 1944 Lucille Antonia, born December 14, 1917 Valmore August, born May 9, 1919; died May 30, 1981 John Raymond, born September 19, 1920 Gertrude Lillienne, born November 6, 1922 Joseph Roland, born March 19, 1924 Ernest Antonio, born July 4, 1925; died July 14, 1990 Therese Antoinette, born July 4, 1925 Marie-Paule Claire, born July 2, 1927 Gloria Bernadette, born May 20, 1929 Doris Marie, born May 28, 1931 Donald Hormidas, born May 22, 1936; died August 15, 2001 As of December 1988, Hormidas and Adelia were the Grandparents of 63 children; the Great-Grandparents of 92; and the Great Great-Grandparents of 6, and the family is still going (growing) strong. |
