Rules of the School

(1) Bow before entering and leaving the do jang (training area).

(2) If you are late for class (ie: Students have already bowed in), you must do 25 push-ups in the back of the class before joining the group.

(3) Once class begins, do not leave the training area without first asking permission from the instructor.

(4) Students must bow to their instructor before speaking to him/her and use words such as "pardon me sir/ma'am", "yes sir/ma'am", "no sir/ma'am", "thank you sir/ma'am".

(5) Advanced students must set a good example for beginning students and offer assistance whenever needed.

(6) Loud conversation, laughing in excess, "horsing around", and chewing gum, have no place in a Taekwon-Do do jang.

(7) Students must wear an official I.T.F. Taekwon-Do do bok (uniform), with the I.T.F. crest attached to the left chest area, and the Yarmouth Taekwon-Do crest attached to the right shoulder area. Do boks must be kept clean at all times. No other crests or markings are allowed on the do bok.


(8) Your fingernails and toenails must be kept short.

(9) Jewelry (rings, earrings, watches, etc.) is not to be worn during class time.

(10) Any substitute instructor or assistant instructor shall be treated with the same respect as your regular instructor.

(11) Do not give a demonstration or teach Taekwon-Do without first getting the permission of your instructor.

(12) Do not engage in any activities that might degrade the reputation of your school and the International Taekwon-Do Federation (I.T.F.)

(13) You must get permission from your instructor before you can participate in any competition.

(14) Free Sparring is to be practiced in class under the direct supervision of a Black Belt instructor. Sparring under any other circumstances (ie: at home, school, community) is strictly prohibited.

(15) When free sparring it is mandatory that all students wear hand, foot & head protectors. Males must wear a groin protector. Touch contact is allowed to the head area and light contact to the body. We must respect each other's body.

Remember: "good control, respect each other,  no injuries."

Safety First!

Disciplinary action will be taken for violation of the above rules. Penalties will vary at the discretion of the Head Instructor. Such penalties could be demotion of rank, suspension or termination of training.
