Resistivity measurement insert

Commercially available measurement systems like OXFORD INSTRUMENTS TESLATRON consume quite a good amount of liquid helium. In order to work with such cryomagnetic systems, continuous supply of liquid helium is the basic necessity. Also there is a heavy loss of liquid helium during its transfer from liquifier dewar to container and then from container to measurement systems dewar.

To avoid this time consuming activity and to minimize the loss of liquid helium, a new resistivity measurement setup was made. Basically its an insert which can be inserted straight into the liquid helium container.

The whole setup consists of following parts

1. Liquid Helium container (Model RS 26)
2. Outer Insert with and without superconducting magnet.
3. Inner inset for sample mounting.
4. Current source, Nanovoltmeter, Temperature controller.
