She currently teaches Humanities at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa, Florida. She is also an adjunct professor at Hillsborough Community College (HCC), Ybor City Campus, which focuses on International Arts.
Maureen is a lifelong dancer whose career includes nearly 17 years as a dancer/actor at Walt Disney World and Epcot Center (Orlando, FL) as well as performance credits throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and North Africa.
In addition, she is the lead singer, percussionist, and dancer with POOKA, a traditional Irish music and dance ensemble based in Tampa, Florida.
Maureen has studied Irish step, set and ceili dance with Kevin Brosler (New York, NY), Michael Smith (Boston, MA), Sheila Butler (Tampa, FL), Charlotte Dalton (St. Petersburg, FL) and Jean Denney (Baltimore, MD.) In addition to her work with POOKA, Maureen teaches workshops in set and ceili dancing, Irish storytelling, and bodhran (Irish frame drum), and directs The Titanic Dancers, an exhibition set dance group.
