One_Eyed_Fiona wakes up to the sound of the din, dresses hurriedly and joins the others, forgetting her eye patch and holding her hand to her left eye. Delko_Forden watches the lethal woman carefully Devaeriel_Stormsong swears at Delko in the Elvan language Willow_Whitewolf looks in the direction of the swearing and watches everyone from her window seat Alister_Okaye says, Bandits #1: "hmmm..." Delko_Forden says, "Lasta lalaithamin" One_Eyed_Fiona looks at the newcomer startled. Maggie_Heatherwick says, "All right. Enough gabbling." Folds her arms and faces Delko. Peers at him closely. "Dalko Forden." Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "bahhh" Devaeriel_Stormsong laughs Dr_Darius2002 says, "Yes you were you thief." Delko_Forden says, "Delko, with an e. And, I deny being a thief. Can you prove it?" Maggie_Heatherwick looks at him hard, "No one comes to this cottage by chance." Nighthawk_KSheyna asks Delko again what he is doing above ground Maggie_Heatherwick walks around him whilst he is in the grip of the golem. Yasmin_Toshido listens and fingers a dagger by her side, not taking her eyes off of Delko Delko_Forden in elvan tongue "None of your business" One_Eyed_Fiona takes her hand away from her left eye and looks at Delko, a shudder running down her back. Delko_Forden eye's light up at the thought of joining others that aren't going to rip his guts out, well not yet at least. "The name is Delko." Willow_Whitewolf bounces excitedly wanting to share with someone, anyone what she knows about the book. Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "That scruffy thief comes from a People that make the Sokudo look like infants when it comes to swordsmanship." Maggie_Heatherwick muses to herself, "I always wondered what that cryptic comment in the book said." Delko_Forden says, "ohh." Yasmin_Toshido snorts. "Let him try then." Stands and stares at K'Sheyna arrogantly Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "You have never seen the dark elves and their Dance of the blades...You don't want to because all who have seen it have perished." Yasmin_Toshido grins. "Well there is always a first then." Dr_Darius2002 orders the golem to release the Drow. Maggie_Heatherwick looks over at the two wrangling. "Hush. There will be no swordplay here." Nighthawk_KSheyna smiles slightly. "If we take in an exile then it is most likely. The Drow hate the other races but they hate their exiles more." Delko_Forden straightens his cloak Maggie_Heatherwick says, "At this time, save it for the rag tag group out there waiting for us when we leave." Yasmin_Toshido shrugs. "Well we will kill them then. Simple as that." Nighthawk_KSheyna looks at Delko, "It seems you are to come with us." Offers the simple elvan bow of greeting Delko_Forden bows back Yasmin_Toshido says, "No Sokudo has ever faced what you call this Dance of the Blades, and then you have never seen a Sokudo perform." Looks at the Drow and sniffs. Turns on her heels and starts to head back. Maggie_Heatherwick shakes her head. Willow_Whitewolf thinking aloud, “Why do they have to fight so much? Why can’t they just accept one another for who they are, for the talents each possess? This is so different from home….. Devaeriel_Stormsong says, "Then train hard Yasmin Toshido because you will need all your skill." Maggie_Heatherwick mutters about over much testosterone overcoming Oestrogen Devaeriel_Stormsong steps forward and regards Delko Maggie_Heatherwick smiles and looks at Deva. "Just who are you now huh young man? Delko_Forden stands still and is regarded Devaeriel_Stormsong winks at Maggie cheekily, "I am nothing but an Elvan Knight Mistress." Willow_Whitewolf laughs and mutters, “Yeah some knight. Doesn’t even know how to say excuse me or pardon me when knocking someone aside to move past. Then again maybe elvan knights have no manners.” Maggie_Heatherwick looks at Delko and moves towards him. Stands before him and catches his eyes.... stares into them. "It seems you will join us then. One false move though Dilko.." Maggie_Heatherwick stares at him deeply, dropping the guise of old woman and letting my full power of a Guardian shine through my eyes with all the ages and wisdom of the forest and magic. One_Eyed_Fiona watches Maggie and the 'Drow', for the first time looking with both eyes, struggling to make sense of the entirely different images each eye perceives. Maggie_Heatherwick says, "It does, we leave in the morning after I get some food inside this young man. The bandits won't move till we come out. Only some few more hours till dawn. Yasmin_Toshido moves away a bit in the direction of the trees and practices darts with the shurikan at the nearby tree where the bandits are. Shakes her head and mutters, "What am I doing among arrogant out clansmen?" mutters in the elvan language. Yasmin_Toshido moves to the tree to recollect her shuriken and pauses... looking around. Delko_Forden upon entering the cottage my eye's scan the place thoroughly, instantly noticing the size difference of the inside to the outside One_Eyed_Fiona moves to follow the Drow back inside, is stopped by a slight sound in the woods, instinct alerts her there are others watching. Alister_Okaye says, Bandiths #1 & #2 freeze like mice. Hold their breath. Yasmin_Toshido eyes narrow and look around quiet a moment.. Hears the rustle above her... stays for quite some time. Looks up Alister_Okaye says, Bandits #1 & #2 take on a shade of blue. Nighthawk_KSheyna sits on the porch with her daggers close to hand Delko_Forden in elvish, "I'm not all that fond of the idea either, being with this rag tag group, you have what a couple of wizards, a couple of steel wielders and YOUR gonna save the world? pah" Yasmin_Toshido loiters under the tree and leans against the trunk throwing a dagger up and down catching it as it gleams in the moonlight grinning to herself. Nighthawk_KSheyna replies to Delko, "Who said we would save it?" Yasmin_Toshido the dagger goes perilously close to those hiding in the branches. Alister_Okaye says, Bandits #1 & #2 panic Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "I'm here because I was forced to by Dev....err the Book." Yasmin_Toshido grins slightly, knowing there is someone up there.. Alister_Okaye says, #1 looks at #2, then pushes him off the branch. Alister_Okaye says, #2 "Ahhhh!"*CRASH* Book of One replies to them both "You are here you don't have to like it you just have to do it...and you will save the world Yasmin_Toshido twirls suddenly and regards the fallen bandit; Yoshido pinned to his throat. Smiles calmly and presses against his throat with the tip. Alister_Okaye says, #2 looks up at the Sokudo, gulps Alister_Okaye says, #1 hops down and sneaks away, chuckles "Ediot...hee hee.." Yasmin_Toshido spins at a movement on the other side of the tree and whips out a shuriken, it disappears, the other had got away Dr_Darius2002 looks out the window to see the golem walking towards Yasmin Yasmin_Toshido looks back at the pale faced bandit. "Say goodnight scum." Presses the Yoshido forward quickly, all the way in to dig into the ground beneath the bandit. Alister_Okaye says, #2 gurgles and slumps over Yasmin_Toshido kicks the body with a sneer and moves back towards the cottage. Looks at them. "One got away." Nighthawk_KSheyna watches the Golem pick up the body and eat it. Alister_Okaye says, #2 is golem food. Maggie_Heatherwick nods. "Well there are more in wait. Best pack we leave in a few hours." Dr_Darius2002 says, "I didn't order the golem to eat any foes, but it served its purpose I suppose." Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "eww Darius why did you create that? I think your golem has a mind of its own Mage Darius." Yasmin_Toshido cleans her sword calmly and sheathes it. Looks around at the group. "I am already packed." Dr_Darius2002 says, "The instructions I gave it were to detain any trespasser upon the land." Dr_Darius2002 looks at Delko, "Did you do anything to my golem while you were being detained Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "I too am ready. All I have is what I am wearing and Kaheera." Delko_Forden says, "Nothing that a little mudpack wouldn't adjust :->" Alister_Okaye says, #2 is DEAD and bleeding on the ground Nighthawk_KSheyna grins at Delko Maggie_Heatherwick laughs and then raises an eyebrow at Delko. Delko_Forden thinks the golem, if it had been male previously is now a neutered thing. Looks innocent Yasmin_Toshido looks at them. Nighthawk_KSheyna walks over to body, pushes the golem out of the way and searches him, mutters a down boy to the golem, Maggie_Heatherwick leans back and studies the newcomer silently. Alister_Okaye says, #2 has nothing of importance on him Nighthawk_KSheyna throws the weapons she finds over to Yasmin Yasmin_Toshido catches it and looks at the rusty dagger. Curls her lip. Dr_Darius2002's golem if it had a tongue would be lolling it's tongue out and panting like a dog Yasmin_Toshido takes a closer look at the second weapon and stills. Stares at it. Nighthawk_KSheyna nods Yasmin_Toshido takes a cloth out of her pack and a small bottle of oil and begins to clean the rust off the blades. Nighthawk_KSheyna pulls out a pendant and wordlessly hands it to Maggie. "It is of the grasslands." Maggie_Heatherwick takes the pendant and studies it. Nods at her. "Yes. It is." One_Eyed_Fiona excuses herself to finish dressing. Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "It was someone's who was very close to me." Shakes with rage Maggie_Heatherwick looks at K'Sheyna. "Who?" Yasmin_Toshido looks up and over at the dead bandit with expressionless eyes, though they are black. "Let the mud thing eat the carrion." Willow_Whitewolf materializes beside the dead bandit, brushes the golem aside before it can eat the corpse, says a quick prayer for the lost soul, praying he finds the light in death that escaped him in life and lays the corpse to rest in a magically made grave, “All creatures deserve respect in death.” Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "They were killed in a raid a year before, his name was Sun eagle. He was killed in a raid shortly before I left the grasslands. Yasmin_Toshido says, "This one was in the pay of someone in Terasi, to be holding imperial daggers. Either that or killed a warrior of Terasi. Which, looking at him, he would have had no chance of doing so." looks at Darius. Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "This Grekke must have been involved in this." Alister_Okaye says, Bandit #1 finally reaches camp. After hurriedly telling his story, a man mounts a horse and heads toward Maggie's house. Willow_Whitewolf approaches the group; stands back a ways from them clutching the book to her chest. Maggie_Heatherwick looks at Kshey and places a hand upon her arm. Looks up. "Someone approaches, a horseman." Yasmin_Toshido starts to work on cleaning around the crest.. takes a deep breath inward as she studies the crest more, "Kokoshido.." Murmurs the name.. Alister_Okaye says, The distance sounds of a slow walking horse can be heard. Nighthawk_KSheyna looks at Maggie her face frozen in an mask, "Whoever this is they know we are the chosen ones don't they." Dr_Darius2002 says, "Apparently so," Devaeriel_Stormsong looks at K'shey and nods. "It would seem so." Maggie_Heatherwick says, "Of course. These bandits are a part of the Dark ones. As I said before, you have enemies now. And they follow the dark prophecy." Alister_Okaye says, Over the hilly path the figure of a man and horse appear... Yasmin_Toshido listens whilst working on the blades still.. removing the last spot of rust. Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "So they deliberately killed Sun Eagle to force me here.. is that right? Was that raid to get at me?" Maggie_Heatherwick says, "I would say not, even I did not know fully the identities of them, But they knew a person would come from the Grasslands. They wished to cause dissension and unrest to all the Grasslands. And for the chosen one to reveal themselves and hopefully, as you did, leave the grasslands to seek answers." Alister_Okaye says, The horse finally comes to a stop, a few hundred feet from the party. Maggie_Heatherwick says, "The same with all countries of your origins, including Terasi” Looks at Yasmin, “With the incursion of bandits and raiders on the borders. And the political intrigues and hatchings of the Carpathian Schools." Looks at Darius. Delko_Forden says, "So that's what they were talking about." Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "They wouldn't have they would have just caused anger at the outlands..." Maggie_Heatherwick says, "Exactly my dear. A war between grasslanders and out clansmen would be advantageous to them and make it that much more difficult for us to achieve our tasks, especially if we must skirt around battlefields." Looks at Delko sharply. "Talking about what? Delko_Forden says, "Hmmm? ohh nothing." Nighthawk_KSheyna growls in frustration, "Please Delko tell us what was it you heard." Delko_Forden says, "Well if you insist." Yasmin_Toshido stands up fluidly and draws her swords facing the door in the direction of the approaching horse, but also listening. Alister_Okaye says, The man hops down from his horse and walks a few more feet toward the group. Maggie_Heatherwick steps forward to face the man the others beside her. Folds her arms. Delko_Forden says, "Two communities back I came across a couple of belligerent drinkers arguing over who killed the most in the grasslands." Maggie_Heatherwick raises an eyebrow at the man. Nighthawk_KSheyna drops a dagger into her hand even while regarding Delko and moves to stand next to Yasmin. Alister_Okaye's eyes look over the group from beneath a tipped hat Yasmin_Toshido eyes narrow studying the man Delko_Forden says, "They were gloating that the area would be devoid of all life for the next few years because of the fear that these two drunks had caused there." Nighthawk_KSheyna grins ferociously, "They don't know us very well then." Delko_Forden says, “I just laughed it off thinking they were full of it..” Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "They are. We moved in, buried our dead and swore vengeance. We are not afraid." Delko_Forden says, “Well I think you got your vengeance, the two were slaughtered by a cloaked figure after they left the tavern. Alister_Okaye says, "I am Alistair Okaye. As I have always done, I come to offer you an escape from death." Willow_Whitewolf moves a bit closer, studying the man named Alister. Muttering to herself, “There is something odd about the way that one moves…” keeps watching Maggie_Heatherwick says, "Oh?" Looks at the man. Yasmin_Toshido studies him. o O (the name is familiar... Dr_Darius2002 watches several of the enchantments on the book work their way into the intruder's skin Yasmin_Toshido scowls. "He will dog our steps every way." Alister_Okaye says, "Yes, this is the book." Maggie_Heatherwick says, "Look at it as a challenge dear. Get over it." Dr_Darius2002 winces at the effects the enchantments must be doing to Alister's hands and arms from holding the book Yasmin_Toshido's face falls back into blankness. Turns her eyes onto the leaving figure face set. Yasmin_Toshido turns and stares at Alister. He stares back. Dr_Darius2002 says, "Most likely a corrupted agent of dark magic that spared his life." Yasmin_Toshido says, "Correct Mage. Corrupt magic." Says it in a clipped cold voice. Alister_Okaye says, "Yasmin? You? A chosen one?" Yasmin_Toshido looks at Alister impassively. Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "I would, I'm not judging Yasmin. But don't you think a lot of problems would be solved if you had the right to extract justice immediately?" Willow_Whitewolf shakes her head again at the posturing, keeps silent and watches Alister_Okaye says, "Well....you were quite good as a cadet..." Yasmin_Toshido says, "I am Captain General of the Sokudo now traitor. I am even better if you would like to try against my skills now." Grins without humour. Delko_Forden readies a wrist sheath blade in the event of something going sour here Nighthawk_KSheyna watches the scene unfold Alister_Okaye says, "A fitting title. But it is for naught. The Sokudo is corrupt." Yasmin_Toshido eyes harden. Alister_Okaye listens to the silence Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "I have heard that the Sokudo are the most honour bound force alive. How can they be corrupt?" Yasmin_Toshido says, "My Sokudo have more honour in their smallest finger than you have in your entire being." Alister_Okaye says, "That is why I left the Sokudo. I foresaw it." Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "There. You mean you prophesised it all Traitorous One? But don't you know that prophecies are?" Alister_Okaye looks toward the sound of K'sheyna's voice. "Fleas do hide in dog hairs, wouldn't you say?" *grins* Yasmin_Toshido says, "You did not leave the Sokudo traitor you were exiled and sentenced to death. More then your eyes would have been taken!" Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "Of course but just because Fleas hide on or do exist, It does not mean the whole dog is riddled." Willow_Whitewolf says under her breath. “Yes something very odd indeed about his movements. Its almost as if…..” Alister_Okaye says, "Yasmin, my dear, you were knee high to a katana. How are you to know what truly occurred?" Yasmin_Toshido says, "My father himself chronicled it." Alister_Okaye says, "Your father. I looked up to him you know. But he is like the others..." Dr_Darius2002 watches as the golem walks quietly behind Alistair Yasmin_Toshido says, "You impugn the honour of the Toshido. No. I know my family and you seek to cause uncertainty. Nighthawk_KSheyna says, "What is it exactly that causes the corruption. What trait do you see in them that is corrupt?" Yasmin_Toshido says, "Go and play with the book, or something else that you most likely play with." Devaeriel_Stormsong says, "Good luck with the Book young Alistair.. Give your master my fond best wishes." Alister_Okaye pulls the reins of the horse and trots into the brush Devaeriel_Stormsong says, "Tell him from me that he will have no joy with the book!" Turns to the Sokudo, "Yasmin, you would do well not to provoke that one. He still sticks to the training regime of the Sokudo." Yasmin_Toshido says, "And who are you to tell me what to do? None of us know how you fit into this, you appear from nowhere." Devaeriel_Stormsong touches Yasmin's cheek, "A friend." Yasmin_Toshido flinches back Devaeriel_Stormsong looks at Yasmin silver eyes dancing, "So suspicious of all my dear child." Devaeriel_Stormsong winks at Maggie Yasmin_Toshido glares and turns away Devaeriel_Stormsong says, "The people in this group Yasmin are to be trusted by all." Maggie_Heatherwick looks back at Deva and nods slightly. Eyeing him measurably. Delko_Forden says, "Lots to be suspicious of." Yasmin_Toshido says, "I trust none till they have proven themselves worthy of my trust and sword. We will see when I have them at my back in battle." Devaeriel_Stormsong says, "Your parents were killed by magic and I know you do not trust but you will learn. You balk because these people exude magic, but you are the balance Yasmin and you will learn to love these people." Delko_Forden says, "hah!" Yasmin_Toshido says, "You know nothing of my history!" Devaeriel_Stormsong says, "There are more then one way to battle Yasmin. Each one of these people has skills that are those of a warrior. Just because they do not fit your image does not mean they deserve your contempt." Yasmin_Toshido glares at Delko. Devaeriel_Stormsong says, "I know all of it little one." Yasmin_Toshido grits her teeth at the condescension. Yasmin_Toshido says, "I am no little one." Turns and moves away from them all around to the other side of the cottage. Devaeriel_Stormsong says, "Condescension? No you will understand soon." Yasmin_Toshido doesn't hear, is out of earshot. Devaeriel_Stormsong says, "You can not hide from what is to be Yasmin. It will follow you all your days." whispers it in her mind. Maggie_Heatherwick says, "Enough Deva. Get back into your holy box. She won't listen now." Devaeriel_Stormsong scowls. Willow_Whitewolf thinks, (Wonderful, just wonderful! More bickering.) Rolls her eyes and moves back inside the cottage, grabbing some food and heading back to her room Book of One speaks within all their minds. o O (We have not the time to pander to egos Maggie.) Snarls in frustration.(I have pandered enough to these children.) Maggie_Heatherwick grins. "All your theeing and thouing is getting tiresome." Dr_Darius2002 gathers his meagre possessions and prepares for the day ahead Book of One. o O (If needs be I will force them.) Maggie_Heatherwick laughs. "She will come with us, and once battle is joined she will come around. They all will once they have worked together." Book of One. o O (do not laugh Maggie you know I have the power to force their wills) Maggie_Heatherwick says, "You try too hard sometimes. And what good would forcing their wills be huh? The light asks to be given willingly, else we are no better than the dark ones, forcing and controlling our puppets. You CANNOT force them." Maggie_Heatherwick. o O (One outcome only.) Willow_Whitewolf stops short outside Yasmin’s room, “DODGER!! Oh god no! Not now..not her." Delko_Forden says, "If you've seen where we all end up why not tell us and we can skip the long way and head straight to the goal?" Maggie_Heatherwick slants an amused look at Delko Book Of One says, "Maggie would you like the book to depart and stop guiding you?" Willow_Whitewolf growls and plucks Dodger by the scruff outta of Yasmin’s pack and takes the Shuriken out of his mouth, “Now cut that out! That doesn’t belong to you!” Looks at him scoldingly and slips the weapon back into the pack Maggie_Heatherwick says, "Don't you try the guilt trip on me Book. You know you would be unable to stop guiding, even just for the chance to snipe at me. There is too much at stake. But you cannot force someone to give their all unless they wish it, else you set it up to fail. What if the reason of the outcome you saw was because Devaeriel pushed Yasmin away?" Book of One. o O (If they do not begin to trust and work together then all is lost before we start.) Maggie_Heatherwick says, "She trusts me a lot more than you purely because her Emperor has enjoined to her to seek me out. I shall talk to her. And they will. So relax else you will split your spine." Willow_Whitewolf settles in her room, back into the window seat nibbling at the food and sharing it with Dodger, looks to him. “Looks like its gonna be a lonely trip my furry friend, seems like none of these people want to trust one another much less be friends. I’m already almost wishing we were back home.” Smiles and hugs the lil ferret as he climbs onto her lap nuzzling comfortingly Delko_Forden. o O (that'd be a shame now wouldn't it?) Maggie_Heatherwick says, "They all met last night in strange and odd circumstances." Dr_Darius2002 looks out the window as the sun emerges over the hills illuminating the grounds Delko_Forden picks something up and goes yahhhh as a spike emerges and pricks his fingers One_Eyed_Fiona returns eye covered now, fully dressed. "Are we ready to be off, then?" She eyes the Drow suspiciously, he reminds her of something, something that makes her feel uncomfortable yet stays out of reach of conscious thought.
