Devaeriel and Dysanter talk
Dysanter is sitting on a log by a stream about 300 metres from the group
Devaeriel_Stormsong walks on silent feet over to Dysaner, whom has seperated himself from the group
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “We will be leaving soon Dysanter.”
Dysanter jumps into a ready position sword in hand..."Never sneak up on a man like that...” Appears thoroughly annoyed
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “Sorry can’t help that..its a racial thing.” Regards Dysanter seriously for a second
Dysanter grunts.....and sits back on the log with his sword across his knee
Devaeriel_Stormsong sits down next to him, “Would you like to tell me what is bothering you?”
Dysanter says, "No."
Devaeriel_Stormsong stares at Dysanter saying nothing
Dysanter says, "There is a saying, never bargain with an elf, never deal with a dragon and meddle not in the affairs of wizards."
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “But you’re not bargaining with me Dysanter... There is no bargain here. You’re in this no “if”, “buts” or “Maybes”
Dysanter says, “But you were sent to me with purpose elf, don't insult my intelligence by saying otherwise.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “I wouldn’t dream of insulting you Dysanter. And I wasn’t sent.  I came on my own.”
Dysanter adjusts his eyepatch, "Then why did you come to me Elf? Even my bloody horse can sense a killing mood.. Why can't you?”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says softly, “You can't kill me Dysanter. I came because I can sense it.”
Dysanter says, “Then you are a fool.” (his sword becomes a ring and he puts it on his finger)
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “When I was created, I was created to keep the world balanced.   In times past I have been able to keep my distance from the questors.  Not this time. This time is different. This time I chose you all for myself. I have more invested in you then you can ever imagine.”
Dysanter's face is suffused with rage. "So I have your worthless hide to blame for this?” Scowls, “I would not dirty my blade on your worthless carcass be gone!!!!”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “No not just mine.. But mostly mine yes.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says sharply, “You refuse to see what you are here for. You have the fate of the world in you hands and yet you refuse to see it. What is making you so angry Dysanter? The fact that for once in your life you know you have a job to do? That you must take responsibility?”
Dysanter says, “I go where you wish me to ‘elf’.” (said as if naming a rather embarassing disease) “I would do as you wanted if you had but asked.  I am not your pawn Elf.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “No your not a pawn, you have free will. You could walk now, but you would still end up doing what you must. Through no direction of mine.” Smiles coldly at Dysanter. “Do you not think that it would be easier for me to force you? Ask yourself WHY I haven’t.”
Dysanter says, “Then I have no free will, I will do this thing because it is right not because you say so and certainly not because of some woods witch-”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “Ahh the old hag..”
Dysanter says, “told me so.....At the end I will have your head but for now I walk with you. Now be gone from here.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “You can’t get rid of me and you can’t kill me Dysanter.”
Dysanter says, “All things must end Elf and your time will come by my hand or by my ancestors.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “I haven’t forced any of you... because I can't. I called you asking you to come. And Yes I need you  But I cannot force you to stay.
Devaeriel_Stormsong laughs, “You still don’t understand exactly what I am.”
Dysanter says, “Nor do I particularly care Elf..... I will stay but the longer you speak to me the less likely it remains. I was never called you damn fool! My horse was.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “Really?” grins cheekily. “Your horse is definately  the sensible one of the pair of you. He always was easier to approach.”
Dysanter says, “What have I done to earn this abuse? I am here and here I stay regardless of your presence.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “You say you will travel with us. But you have not yet willingly accepted your destiny. You have not yet accepted responsibility for your companions.”
Dysanter says, “I have accepted it. I am completely enraged by your arrogance and presumption is all.  Which is why I am here.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “They will need you..  Not one of them knows the world the way you do.”
Dysanter says, “I will protect all of them but you elf. Now heed at least one of my wishes and be gone.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong sighs, “I don’t need your protection Mortal.”
Dysanter says, “Save your arrogance elf I have no time for any more of your manipulations nor those of the Witch. I will do my duty and that is all you should care about.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “Ohh and an attitude like the one you have will surely make the others welcome you.”
Dysanter says, “I came here to spare them my rage.... All you needed to do was ask you filthy Elvish bastard, but you couldn't even do that.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong eyes glint
Dysanter says, “I would do anything for any of those people but you, I have no respect for.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “You’re really are  trying to pick a fight....” *grins* “If I was really elvan then it would have worked by now.”
Dysanter says, “Well Whore's son I care not for your true linage.  You have treated me impolitely so you can expect the same in return. Do unto others...my friend.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “I have treated you impolitely? Ohh come now. Tell me in which way .. I have barely gotten here and since I have I have left most things in Maggie’s hands. Are you annoyed because a women is running things?”
Dysanter says, “You say that you brought us here.  You did not ask.  And I have more respect for women than you give me credit for.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “I brought you here by asking. I asked Gringo’s father to send my request to both of you.”
Dysanter says, “I was never told.” (Dysanter suddenly goes cold and hard)
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “Never told does not mean it never happened.”
Dysanter says, softly with large helpings of menace, “Be gone from my presence ere my temper wanes.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “Dysanter would it help if you could see what would happen to the world without your help, to see what would become?  To see why it is nessecary to have you here?”
Dysanter says, “I AM HELPING YOU MISERABLE BASTARD NOW LEAVE MY PRESENCE!” Blood runs from Dysanter's clenched fists and he turns to leave.
Devaeriel_Stormsong calmly sits down looking out at the stars and says softly, “Go. I cannot work with you. We can work this without you. I will call another. Go back to Mezria.” Closes his eyes in pain
Dysanter says, “I can't and you know it. Call another if you have to but I will protect those which you have called and put in danger. Your selfishness is truly legendary.
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “They will not need you. I am here against the Gods’ dictates. I came to protect the ones I love.” Says this softly.
Dysanter says, “Regardless Mister Immortal Elf.... If I must save the world then I am only too happy but I don't need to have any love of you.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong turns to face Dysanter
Dysanter turns his back on Devariel and starts walking
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, *face hard* “As I have said, we will not need you after all..Go. Do what ye must but leave here.”
Dysanter stops and turns. “I will not. I have a job to do and it will be done but immortal or not you will regret what you have done to us.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “Your presence will have an adverse effect on the balance and on the others.”
Dysanter says, “It won't for I will not show this sort of emotion around them, it would not be fair to them...which is why I came out here.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “and yet you will carry this around with you.”
Dysanter says, “You seem to think me selfish and cruel. I am neither of these things. Remember it was your methods which make me feel this way. Whether your purpose is good or ill you are most certainly the most vile creature I have ever met.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “Of course Dysanter.  It is easier to blame me then it is to see your own fear.”
Dysanter says, “I am afraid of nothing and no one. I go now to sit with my companions and to be with my horse, if you have any further need to throw your hate at me I will arrange a time. But for now I need to be away from you.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “Hate? Dysanter, I love you more then anything in the world else why would I have created you?”

Dysanter says, “If this is true then you treat me with such scorn that I would deny you without hesitation. Those who love me treat me with respect.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “I have never treated you with scorn Child, ever. Have you ever had to do things because you have been commanded? And I don’t mean this situation. I sent a request to the Horse Lord.”
Dysanter says, “Who wouldn't have thought it worth mentioning it to a human? If you were so powerful you would know their customs.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “I can feel the scales tipping in the world. The Ashanti gather their strength. The Gods laid this geas upon me even as they have you.
Dysanter says, “But know this you are the vessel of hate from which my pain flows… Then we have no time for this prattle.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “Until recently my awareness of the world was trapped in the pages of a book. In that prophecy.  It was not until you all came together that I was able to move freely in the world. Being a book has its limitations.”
Dysanter says, “Well you being a book explains your lack of manners and consideration. I am a man of action so leave me to it.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “I could only affect so much. I needed Maggie to send out the call. And I needed the Horse Lords permission for Gringo. I had never affected the Horses as I have humans, I never realise that he would never mention this to you. It has been so long since I was fully in the world that even I make mistakes Dysanter. I am not mortal but I am not infallible
Devaeriel_Stormsong bows his head to Dysanter, “If you would accept an apology?”
Dysanter nods. “Good we agree then. And I could not accept your apology now not even if such an impulse was on my heart, gor my mind does not change so quickly. I am both honest and sincere, I would not insult you by accepting it.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “Your insult matters not to me Dysanter, In truth, all that matters is that none of the others are harmed by your distance. All that matters are my children.”
Dysanter says, “Then I go to my companions.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong hides his regretful expression in the shadows.
Dysanter says, “It sounds like you have started to botch an important job. I should make a new start if I were you.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “I have had reasonable success with all but you.”
Dysanter says, “The Mezrians put a great store by politeness you should have known this before attempting to deal with me. You have made your mistakes, make no more and I have no problem with you.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “As I said it has been a while since I moved in the world. Last time I was here the Mezrians had barely discovered fire.”
Dysanter nods. ”I leave you to pick up the pieces of this, your failure. If you are man enough to move on then we might get along.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “You certainly are stubborn and you need to learn something.” Takes a deep breath and starts singing a tragic old elven song hiding the power of a spell beneath it. Feels the world blur around them and watches the scenery change; watches it become more twisted and dark.
Dysanter says, “I said you should move on from your mistakes not continue with them elf.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong smiles coldly, “You feel I am a failure?”
Dysanter says, “Yes. And I don't care for this, your home.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “Then look around you and discover what you must and tell me what failed here. You see we are in the possible future. Go watch Dysanter. Go watch what happens to your Companions. Go see who fails whom.”
Dysanter says, “I will fail no one elf unless you make me do so.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong settles down against the burnt out tree and closes his eyes. Begins to fade.
Devaeriel_Stormsong o O (Roam Dysanter.. Tell me what you discover)
Dysanter says, “Stay and bear witness to your latest failure elf. I was not asked if I would come here. Politeness is not too much to ask is it?”
Devaeriel_Stormsong. o O (I will be here as I always have been. I was there when you were born. But here in this time I must be in my correct form)
Dysanter looks around the tortured landscape with a look of rage on his face
Devaeriel_Stormsong exists nearby
Dysanter cuts the tree into pieces as his ring becomes a battle axe
Devaeriel_Stormsong. o O (Go to the clearing up ahead)
Dysanter ignores the voice as he stops to bandage his hands which have the perfect half moons of his finger nails carved into them.

The scene in the clearing is of bodies, and of a book burned on a dark alter. a woman beautiful in a sly way stands truimphant over Maggie. About to bring the knife down upon her.

Dysanter seeing this throws his axe overarm at the woman about to knife Maggie
Devaeriel_Stormsong. o O (It will have no effect. You are here to watch)
Dysanter says, “I have seen people die before.” *the axe returns to his hand*

The woman speaks, "Well Guardian. You certainly picked the best possible people to foul up.”

Dysanter watches impatiently. "You have sought to cause me pain Devaeriel, and you have suceeded. Enough!"

The woman continues, “Try as you might you couldn’t get them to even see the importance of their task.  Did you even bother to tell them that individually they didn’t matter. That only together. Only in trusting you and that book could they succeed?”

Dysanter says, “Damn you Elf I know what we risk, I need no reminder of this.”

The woman laughs. “Foolish petty arguments and rages. I love it even as they were serving you old woman they were embracing chaos with their rage.”

Dysanter says, “Oh nice touch Devaeriel, I don't appreciate these parlour tricks they don't become you.”

The woman brings the knife down, Maggie’s bright blood sprays the area. The woman covered in it starts to laugh.

Dysanter winces, a tear in his eye. "Why do this Elf I didn't need to see this."
Devaeriel_Stormsong solidifies without a word, silver eyes fey and takes them back to the clearing in which they started. He then sits down without a word
Devaeriel_Stormsong. o O (To the Gods.... Even as I follow you dictates I alienate him futher.)
Dysanter says calmly and coldy. “If ever it comes to that it will be your failure not mine. I am a soldier. I listen to instructions and seeing as you hold the cards I will listen. But never do anything like that to me again.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong snaps, “I hold nothing! I hold on to the hope of understanding from mortals. If I could act on this my self I would but I need you all.”
Dysanter says, “Then treat them like people.  Even the beasts in the paddock have more respect for us than you.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong stares at Dysanter eyes wide, face pale.  “I see it all, each path, each possible failure. You think I like this well? I don’t.”
Dysanter says, “You put me in a place where I could not defend those I am sworn to defend...Never do that again.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “My impatience and abruptness sometimes comes from seeing it all and knowing, just knowing that I can’t explain it.  In that timeline Dysanter, you were already dead.”
Dysanter says, “It shall not come to pass, I swear it.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “Then I know this is asking a lot but you must trust me. I can not always explain and it seems rude and impolite but I would never ever do anything to harm any one of you.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong eyes show the pain of the whole world.  “There is more I would tell but in doing so it would incur the wrath of the Gods.”
Dysanter says, “As I said I will listen to you but I have no love for you. You are a cruel being. But this world must be saved so we should get about it.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “I am neither cruel or uncruel Dysanter. I am not human. I am in truth not a person. So I feel nothing the way you would. I am a nessecity.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong rubs a hand over his face
Dysanter says, “We are allies, that is all that matters.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “No it isn’t Dysanter, but alas I can not tell you why it must be more then that.”
Dysanter sighs dramatically, “While you are comely enough you aren't my type.” *chuckles* “I have a job to do so I should get to it. A lot of your words seem hollow to me .”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “Be that as it may Dysanter.” keeps looking out to the stars, “Tell me. Would it have been worse if I had stayed away? Would you be even more angry if a faceless being dictated to you?”
Dysanter says, “Oh yes.....Most certainly because that would have been even more impolite. A human being would have been much more preferable.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong nods  “And yet the Gods tried to stop me from becoming.”
Dysanter says, “Then they are cruel....”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “That is why Maggie is here. There are no mortals who could understand, or even stay sane under what we see Dysanter. The gods can be, but then they think differently to you or even I. They look to the whole and not the individual, as I do within this group. Yet they have Galaxies to look for.”
Dysanter says, “That is not my concern.” *his face softens slightly* “I know people which is why I must go with them despite my feelings for you, or Maggie. I am only human and I feel and think as such.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “The gods are all our concern Dysanter. It was they who caused all this to begin with.”
Dysanter says, “This world is my concern now....no matter who started it.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong nods, “Even now I give you leave to go. It is your choice now. Stay or Go.”
Dysanter says, “If you understood me Devaeriel, you would know that given a choice of right or wrong, I can not choose wrong. I am a hero of this land.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong nods eyes still up at the stars, hiding how shaken he was by the future.”
Dysanter says, “I love all it's peoples. Mostly the women but nevertheless I go to them now. I may forgive you providing you treat me well.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “Understand me even so Dysanter. I do nothing without a purpose. Sometimes I will ask things of you which will seem impolite. I need to know that they will be done despite it being me who asks. If you cannot do that then we will end up at the point you saw.”
Dysanter says, “I understand that now which is why I have not at least tried to carve you in to pieces. I am a soldier I hear and obey when an order is given you have made it clear you have power over me.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says, “Believe it or not I have no love of using that power against any of you.”
Dysanter says, “So I listen because I love life and all life.”
Dysanter grunts, “I do not like how this was done but I do it because it must be done. And now my horse needs grooming
Devaeriel_Stormsong has retreated into himself a bit. “Please go back to the others. Could you help Maggie get the others moving?”
Dysanter says, “I can and will.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong says softly, “My Thanks.”
Devaeriel_Stormsong eyes are far away, still living in that world of pain
Dysanter turns on his heal and walks to back towards the group.
