Oxygen is the fuel of cell metabolism which serves to speed up tissue respiration; oxygenation is the healthful use of oxygen for respiration. The Oxygenating Facial is an antioxidant therapy to ameliorate free radical damage. Oxidative damage (the "rusting" of the cells caused by free radicals) is one of the more significant contributors to the aging process. Free radicals occur when UV radiation or certain chemicals penetrate the skin. Aging, poor diet, bacterial and viral toxins, and solar radiation exacerbate free radical activity.
