The sacred Naga, a long giant serpent believed to live in the Mekong River, is at the origin of this ceremony. The people of Nongkai Province
build boats decorated with light and offerings to pay respect to Naga. Also join the merit-making ceremonies on
Buddhist Lent day and watch an illuminated boat contest with a mini light and sound show.
