"Mystique's Midkight Dreaming"
Percheron (Draft) Filly
from the PMU farms in North Dakota.
This is me (Mystique) with my Mama learning how to do tricks! Only 15 months old (Sept 04)
This was me at a
PMU farm in
North Dakota.

PMU Percheron Sire
is 18hh.
PMU stands for "Pregnant Mare's Urine" and this is how the drug Premarin is produced.  Premarin is a estrogen hormone replacement drug for women suffering from Menopause.  While a mare is pregnant, her urine is collected for it's estrogen enriched qualities, once the foal is born and has been weaned from it's mother; then it's time for adoption!
JANJanuary 2005 - Age 19 Months old. Today I wore a saddle & a Bosal just like Angel.  Mama says I'm going to have to get use to this stuff early because one day I'll be to big for her to train.  It's okay, it doesn't bother me one bit.
Hey!
Is that a carrot or a camera in your hands?
Umm Mom?
I can't put my head down.
Mom, I've been very good...Can you take this stuff off now?
Here is the latest update:
May 11, 2004-The Baby is home  "underweight, unhandled, and very skittish".  We will let her rest, put her on antibiotics, and improve her diet until she starts to
look and feel better.
June 4, 2004 -  After two days of simple round-pen work, "Mystique" adores people, loves to be brushed and is learning how to wear a halter, pick up her feet,
and enjoys taking a bath
June 23, 2004 - Milo-the-farrier came and trimmed her feet!  As long and I fed her grain and scatched the inside of her ears, she did great!  Now that she has shed her winter coat, been wormed, put on weight, and had her feet trimmed, she is starting to loose that wooley-mammoth look and become a real beauty!
July 16th, 2004 - All Vaccinations are done (Thanks Dr. Edwards), not an easy task since they had to be given in the round pen to our un-halter trained baby.  We'll start it soon !
August 29th, 2004 - Halter can come on and off now & with little resistance, Mystique is starting to understand "Mama pulls on the lead rope and I think I'm suppose to follow" except that she does it very, very slowly.
September 9th, 2004 - Mystique is starting TRICK TRAINING (inspired by www.imaginahorse.com in Austin, TX).  At home she will already stand on a Pedestal, paw the air, and smile for carrots.  We have also started basic ground-driving lessons, just to learn the verbal cues of "Whoa & Walk-on" !
January 1&2 2005 - Today she wore the western saddle and bosal.  I trotted her around the round pen for about 5 minutes just to see if she would buck.  Nope!  Mystique is going to be an easy one to train, just like Angel!  Phewwwf!
