Blue Irish Standard Dumbo
Bluejay was my big squishy boy rat. He was a great lap rat, riding around on my shoulder while I cleaned cages and the like. Despite his laid back personaltiy, he was also a escape artist. When he was about two months, he and his brother Valentino escaped from their cage and had a great time ripping holes in kibble bags and knocking things over. After he turned a year old, he made another escape. He escaped from the cage, knocke several things over, ripped a hole in a dog toy that wasn't ours (the person had asked us to get rat scent on it for her terrier) and I found him sleeping in the garbage next to the ripped toy.
In May 2003 he was taken by a secondary infection, weakend by Sendai, he didn't pull through.
He was buried in our backyard next to his son, Maybie
