THE YELLOWDOG'S
    1977 Buick LeSaber
This car was given to me after being run in 2 derby's allready. This was not the
first car I ever drove in a derby, but it was the first I ever " built " or worked
on. The rear frame was not in good shape to start with. But I pulled it back
down VIA some chain and a tree ( and a few hard Jerks from the car). A
welder , and a sledge hammer later and you see what I got :-(  ?  OK I know
it don't look good but hey , it was free? So now I know your asking ????????
How did it go? Well the rearend went
down instead of up. But judging from
the before picture's anyone with ex-
perience with derby's would have seen
that. I knew it was going to happen, but
hey IT WAS FREE? The frame also
broke in half on both sides in the back.
The real shame of the whole deal is that
the front end was still in very good
shape. I tried to use the front but every-
one just wanted to hit me in the rear.
The engine wasen't in to good of shape either, by the end of the derby I had the
gas on the floor and wasen't moving more than 10 MPH. I just shifted from
reverse to drive W/O even taking my foot off the gas. BUT it just kept running.
Must have been THE
Gear Oil I put in the engine. :-) ? Yea that stuff will keep
a rattling engine from blowing up no matter how bad it want's to. SO now your
asking yourself how I ended up? Well belive it or not
I WON the Derby ,
granted it wasen't a big one , we only had a main event . There wern't enough
cars to have heats. However I do have a point to make......

The BEST CAR dosen't allways win & The WORST CAR dosen't allways lose.

I had the worst car I belive, and some how came out on top. I could'nt do it
again im shure of, but it did make for an intersting story????
