| The Yellow Cape Revolution started around February of 2001 out of Santa Cruz California. The name is based around a conversation I had with my best friend Hank...we decided that super powers and yellow capes are the start of the revolution. (hah!) This distro exists in support of independent media and the need for communication. Zines, music, diy, (etc.) are all key factors in building community. Most of The Yellow Cape Revolution is run through mailorder. Once in a while I will table shows, and attend events. I have previously tabled The Santa Barbara Zine Fest, The Portland Zine Symposium, and The Anarchist Bookfair. This distro started with the focus on independently published work and now has grown to carry books, crafts, records, and a good selection of zines. I hope to expand the distro as much as possible as time goes on. Eventually the distro will be a part of another project I'm currently working on called The Copy Cafe. The distribution of new thoughts and ideas holds great importance to me. I do this distro in hopes to build new friendships, learn about new things, and bring art/information to places that it might not otherwise be accesible. Love & Inspiration, Sarah |
