An Analysis of "Yelwa-Yauri" a Novel | ||||||
Here is one picture which is a part of the L- shaped house mentioned in the novel, "Yelwa-Yauri." This is the porch overlooking the Niger River and observe the huge post, where "Susana" released her emotional tortures and the "string" which she used to dry her clothes. At the background is the setting sun as described in the novel. In page 75 of the manuscript the setting sun is described further : "The last of the sun's rays was reflected in the river which transformed it like a shining road in the darkness of the earth." The church is a few meters away from this L- shaped house. In Page 72 of the manuscript: "She took a seat in one of those long logs cut into half and the surface refined." It is interesting to write stories on places where one has been and this is just one example. |
