Li Yu-Yen shared her experience from Leeds

Lecture

15th April 2005, 1.30pm; Producer and Anchor of the Finance programmes of TTV, Ms Li Yu-Yen was invited this afternoon to share her experience on an overseas education with a group of news faculty students from Chinese Cultural University on how to gain an enriched and rewarding experience while studying overseas. Ms Li Yu-Yen has developed a keen interest on media since her student days at the Chinese Cultural University. Since then, She has set her career aspiration in the direction of mass communications. Upon graduation she worked as an Editor for Finance programme at USTV and subsequently worked for SETTV, CTITV and at present TTV. Ms Li Yu-Yen expressed that she has worked for four years before she decided and flew overseas to do her Masters at UK. During her stay at UK, she has gained a different living experience, learnt budget traveling and broadened her global perspective. During the talk, a segment from her new programme on overseas study experience was shown to the audiences. In the programme, Cong Pei Ming, General Manager from Merica was invited to shared the experience on overseas education. The subjects including the importance of considering the returns on the investment of an overseas education, planning in advance so that the experience would be rewarding. The guest emphasized that the important thing is to major in subjects that one has an interest in and also to be able to broaden one's view on things. To be able to gather enough information on the institutions through various source is a priority in this case. Towards the end of the talk, Ms Li reminded the students not to perceive an overseas education to be distance but to consider the perspective in the context of enhancing one's competitiveness, global perspectives and to improve on the foreign language and professionalism (in the picture; Yen with the students)

Zheng You announced the launch of the Finance and Family Channel

TTV

To strengthen the contents of the cable programmes, TTV initiated a news conference today. The Chief Executive Officer of TTV, Zheng You dressed as the God of Wealth to meet the press. He announced that from the beginning of 1st of September 2004, the Finance Channel will be officially launched and the existing Family Channel will incorporate 14 additional new programmes to its' current list. Zheng expressed that since the launch of TTV programmes in June, it has gained good reviews from viewers and public in general. From the beginning of 1st September 2004, the new programmes schedule will incorporate finance, family and fashion as the main theme. The Finance programme will be broadcast 6 hours daily. The programmes will be placed under the wings of anchors and Yen is the anchor for the Finance programme. (in the picture; Yen with Zheng You)
