Saturday the 5th of April was a very special day. It was the launch of Yes Group Scotland. A team of dedicated volunteers headed by the Chairman, Mike Berry (AKA DynamicMike) decided the time was right to bring the Yes Group to Scotland.
Saturday evening and the excitement was building, months of planning was about to come to fruition. As the music started and the doors opened we were all so excited to see 60 happy smiling faces enter the room ready for an evening they would never forget.
I was the MC for the evening and what a privilege that was. We all danced to the music and then settled back for our first outstanding speaker of the evening Jonathan Clark. Jonathan is a Master Practitioner of NLP and a hypnotist and his unique and entertaining way of talking about values and how they affect us in everyday life was enthralling. There was plenty of audience participation and a willing volunteer spoke with Jonathan about her values within relationships.
After the break and a few moments to reflect, the music and dancing got underway and the atmosphere was fantastic. Next speaker for the evening was Harry Bishop, a Stage Hypnotist who also specialises in treating people with phobias. Harry was determined to get everyone laughing and so he did. There was a lot of audience participation, most memorable when everyone was paired up to create “laughter anchors” and also when we all anchored that all-important “Yes”. There was then an impromptu conga around the room, which again had everyone laughing. There was an entrancing end to Harry’s talk when he spent a few minutes doing a closed eye process with us.
As the evening drew to a close there was a fitting end when Erick Rainey did a closed eye process and reminded us of all the great things we had learned at the first ever Yes Group Scotland and the amazing new friends we had made. Mike Berry Chairman of Yes Group Scotland then rounded up a fantastic evening and thanked everyone that had been involved.
Already plans are well underway for the next Yes Group Scotland, which will be on May 3rd in Edinburgh. The committee are consistently working to make Yes Group Scotland as outstanding as it can be and are committed to constant and never ending improvement. We look forward to seeing you there.
