Yes Group Scotland, May 3rd , Heriot Watt University

The second Yes Group Scotland meeting rolled into Edinburgh’s Heriot Watt University.  Building on the success of the first Yes Scotland meeting in a brand new city, where the committee members were all filled with anticipation, the music started and the dancers were on stage.  The doors opened and the room filled with people.

Our first speaker of the evening, Stephen Mulhearn, talked about when he was going through tough times and how after attending many self-help seminars, he came across a lady called Peggy Dylan.  Peggy trained Firewalk instructors, and one of her pupils had been Tony Robbins.  Peggy taught firewalking as a way of connecting with your inner self and Stephen said that at the first firewalk he did with her, there was no chanting “Cool Moss”.  It was all about connecting and apparently it was the hottest firewalk Stephen had ever done!

There was then an amazing demonstration by Stephen of arrow breaking which is an ancient ritual from the Fijian Islands which is still practised today.  Firstly Stephen demonstrated how to break an arrow – he stated a good intention – that we would all find love, then as the arrow was at his throat, we all chanted “Puma, Puma” to give him support.  He then took that amazing step forward and the arrow broke.  Four very brave volunteers came up and did the same.  What an amazing presentation!

Our next speaker was Babu Shah who wanted to share with us how to manifest effortlessly in life.  The main emphasis was on how to make money effortlessly and Babu gave many examples of how we try and try in life for things and how at the moment that we stop trying, that’s when we start receiving.  There was an interesting exercise that we did with our partners of putting our hands together and imagining that our arms were made of steel.  Our partners then tried to pull them apart with all their strength and couldn’t.  For us it was effortless.  What a great example.  Babu also talked about how focus is like a guided missile and made the point that when we really focus on something we can achieve it.  There were many great learnings within this talk.

We wanted to give extra value for the evening and Harry Bishop got us all really focused and did some “Yes” anchoring exercises.  He then got some willing volunteers up and did some work on changing their limiting beliefs using some NLP skills.

After a full and fun-packed evening full of learning it was time for Erick Rainey to recap on what a great evening we’d had.  He reminded us of all the great things we had learned and asked us to think about who we really want to be.  With that the words “Life Will Never Be The Same Again” echoed round the room and everyone celebrated what a great evening they had just had – every single person in the room came on stage and danced……and danced……
