October Fest
This month's dynamic YES
Don Chisholm, at the age of 50, rapidly approached
the point of no return. His usual doctor said there was nothing wrong, but Don
knew this was a mis-diagnosis. He immediately went for another opinion. That
second opinion resulted in urgent medical care (Don later discovered that they
didn't expect him to survive long enough to make another appointment). 6 years
on and Don was looking great as he stood before us! And he shared some of the secrets
to his remarkable recovery, delivering the message that health starts in the
colon. The range of his discussion was extensive; pointing out that aspartame
(aka Nutrasweet) when heated to over 30 degrees celcius turns into
formaldehyde, that we are the only mammal to drink milk beyond childhood and
the only one to drink the milk of another animal. For more info, visit www.saferemedies.com.
The second speaker extended health and wellbeing to
the workplace. Ever wondered why you are unhappy at work? Or why others enjoy
it even more than you do? Catherine Brookes uses some of the Robbins techniques
to help select personnel for large companies. Catherine delves under those
automatic responses to see how our 6 basic needs must be fulfilled by the work
we do.
When they do not, or the values of the company go
against your belief system, stress and dissatisfaction result. Catherine
demonstrated the techniques with a volunteer: the quick analysis with David
allowed us all to see how the techniques can draw out what is important. Using
these make it more likely that a prospective employee will enjoy the new
company and vice versa.
As a special opportunity after the event, Bryce
took a number of us for a wee firewalk in Blairgowrie. It turned out to be a
great evening - one of those for the memory banks! Great fun was had naming all
the logs that went onto the fire, and the build up was calm, measured and
relaxing (unlike when Tony Robbins does his firewalks!). About 14 people did
the firewalk with most doing it 2, 3 and 4 times. Wheeeeeeeeeee! All under a
gloriously, clear, starry night. There are no pictures of the people
firewalking as the flash might have distracted the walkers. Photos of the
build-up are however on the website.
