President’s Message

Busy, busy with our daily life and work commitments has made time pass-by like a flash of lightning. I remember just stepping into the new millennium the year 2000 and now we are already in the 2001. “HAPPY NEW YEAR  AND WELCOME TO THE 21ST CENTURY”

I am glad to be given this opportunity to meet you once again in this edition of the Buletin PAAA of the new millennium. The year 2000 was a very eventful year for our association. Besides having successfully staged our domestic meets we also successfully hosted two national events, the 8th Sukan Malaysia and the 78th Malaysian Amateur Athletic Union Open Championship in Penang. As for me, I was elected the President of the MAAU and Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia. I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your untiring services, commitments and contributions in making the above events a successful one.

As we move into the year 2001, Kuala Lumpur will host the 21st SEA Games. My aspirations are more of our technical officials will officiate in this prestigious competition and raise their level of performance in the field of officiating and in the administration of the sports. Our officials will be fully committed to their tasks and serve the association wholeheartedly to vitalise the organisation.

In conclusion, I would like to say that we should have qualities and talents that attributes a top sports official. We need officials to demonstrate leadership qualities and determination, the ability to get thing done and foresight. Everyone should strive to be a top sports official with great determination and leadership trait.

Thank you.

Your President,

DatoSyed Mohamed Aidid.
