Six Flags
Home Up About Us Photo Album Stories

No one can say that he/she has felt the spirit of America until one has been on roller coasters rides.  And I am not talking about that kid's stuff in Disney World but about Six Flags.

As far as I know, the Six Flags is the chain of roller coaster places all over the USA. We went to the one in Chicago. At the end of the day I just couldn't talk. Why? I am sure you know it if you have been there yourself. No? Then, keep on reading and you will understand.

Unfortunately, a lot of my friends couldn't go, so there were only three of us (FSA guys): Volodya, Alex and I. On the first roller coaster I lost everything that I could possibly loose without falling out myself: my hair clip, sun glasses, some coins and other things. First it went up very slowly and then...90 degrees downwards VERY fast...and so on! It was crazy!

Another roller coaster was called Crazy Diablo's Mine. You know, usually I am not afraid of these things. For me the faster and the higher - the better. But this... There I spent 2 minutes full of horror.  To describe it I should say that it is a high pillar-type of a tower with two bars of chairs on each side.  You sit down into a chair, get secured REALLY tight and here it starts. The chairs lift you up. It was all fun for me until we got to the height of twenty-storeyed building.  My God, I think I could see everything as far as Wisconsin. There I started to wish it wasn't for real. "Stop this! It's a mistake! I want to get off!" The funniest thing is that no one hears your crying for help when you are up there. And this is arranged in a way that you have almost a minute of hanging up there - just enough to play back all your life.  Then suddenly the magnets, that hold your chair, let it go and... You fall so fast that you cannot think, you cannot breathe, not a single sound is able to come out of your mouth, there is nothing left but pure feeling of horror. It was the first and the last time I felt something like that.

There is much more to say about what we have experienced that day, as there were 16 roller coasters, every one thrilling in its own way,  and we tried nearly every one of them; but I will say nothing more because no words can make you really feel it, the only way is to try it.
