Jesus, Model of Faith, Model of Full Humanity
Jesus is the Lord and Savior of the world, but while he

was living, although he was fully God, he was also fully

man.  Jesus' beliefs were revolutionary during the time he

walked the earth.  He preached that God is all loving and all

merciful, not a wrathful God.  Also, instead of fostering

the ideas that sinners were not to be associated with, Jesus

sat at the table with these types of people and accepted

them.  This was revolutionary, Jesus went so far as to lay

his hands on sinners not to send them away, but to forgive

their sins.  When Jesus came across a Leper, the lowest of

the low, He "stretched out his hand, touched him, and said,

'I do will it, be made clean.'" (Luke 5: 13).  Jesus didn't

avoid any people and often he actually sought out those

who needed his assistance.  These people, he cured of their

malodies and other pains they may have been experienceing
.
Jesus chose to remain with the ordinary people.  He was

not apart of the religious elite, like the Pharisees or scribes.

Because of this regular people were drawn to Jesus and his

message of "love thy neighbor and follow the

commandments."  To help people on this journey, He gave

the Beatitudes.  Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice of giving

his life, which was possible through his becoming human.

His love for us is so great, He was willing to die to show

his love.  We can learn that we too should try to be self-

sacrificing and attempt to love our neighbors as mush as

Jesus loves us.
