Answering Sajita's book "Is Jesus God" - Part 1 - By Yishan Jufu, 28 January 2003

Legend: Text in black is Sajita's or quotes made by her; texts in red are my responses.

Sajita: These are the questions commonly asked by Muslims:-

Nowhere in the Bible Jesus said, "I am God, worship me".

"Jesus himself worshipped One God. Does God worship God?"

If Jesus is God then, When Jesus was crucified, it means, God died…who was on the throne when Jesus was in this world?

Jesus himself asked God for help. Does God ask God for help? This also shows that Jesus was not All-Mighty, whereas God is truly All-Mighty.

If Jesus is God then why He needed to comedown to this world and give His life? He could have done it sitting on His throne.

If Jesus Is God, Why Does He Pray in the Gospels?

Jesus ate, slept, drank, went to the bathroom just like other human beings. Clearly, he is a human being - a great one - a messenger of God and a prophet, but no more than that.

Jesus was never called, "Son of God" but He was only called, "Son of Man"

Jesus did not die nor resurrected from the dead. If we consider that alleged resurrection took place then why there is no evidence of resurrection?

Jesus was not crucified himself nor was he sent to this world to die on a cross for anyone's sins! Matthew 26:39, "He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will." So, from the above verse you should see that this cannot be a person who was prepared for the claimed sacrifice, rather a person who was afraid to die like any normal human would be!

First of all, no one witnessed him rose again. Secondly, look at his appearance after the "alleged" resurrection. If Jesus is God then I am still wondering why no one recognized the man who claimed to be Jesus, resurrected.

Much like your worship of Jesus in vain, whereas Jesus himself tells you otherwise, read John 17:3, especially the words "THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and Jesus WHOM YOU HAVE SENT", this makes the worship of Jesus a worship of a FALSE god since there is THE ONLY TRUE GOD WHO SENT JESUS.

As Christians you do not respect his holy and complete adjectives and you talk about

God as your friend as you had seen before as you live with him.

Sajita: Let us see what Jesus said about Himself: -

"For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath." (Matthew 12:8)

"Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath."(Mark 2:28)

Let me deal every question raised by Muslims one by one.

Nowhere in the Bible Jesus said, "I am God, worship me".

Was there ever any need for him to? Let me ask this question. Did you ever hear George W. Bush speaking about himself.. saying, "I am the president of USA. Please respect me?" The fact is, I never heard him saying like this but every one knows that he is the president of USA. How do we know? Because he is the president of USA. So there is no need to say, what he is. And the same thing is with Jesus. He need not to say, "I am God, worship me." However many a times Jesus said that, "He is God" and that "He is the Son of God."

Yishan: The answer to the question raised above by Ms. Sajita is "Yes, there is a need for him to claim his deity if he was God."

There is no need for God to claim His deity, however, we find Him doing just that in both the Bible & the Quran:

So, we see scriptural proofs from both the Old Testament (OT) and the Quran that God does state very clearly who He is; hence Sajita's remarks about the need or lack of it for Jesus to proclaim his deity is baseless since God did state it even in her holy bible!

Though Jesus does not need to say that, "I am God, worship me" but still He said in many places that He is God. And Jesus was worshipped by people, demons, angels and heavenly hosts.

Yishan: Another big, false claim by Sajita and we shall see how her falsehood shall backfire!

Jesus was worshipped by all

1.   Jesus was worshipped by people:

Three wise men inquired about Jesus saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." (Matthew 2:2)

They followed the star and they went to the place where Jesus was born and worshipped Him as we read in Matthew 2:11, "And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshipped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh."

Yishan: I love it when Sajita makes a bad joke! Is she serious to quote Matthew 2:2 (actually it is excerpts from Mat 2:1 & 2)?!!!

The word "wise men" is the Greek 3079 magos (mag'-os), which means:

"of foreign origin (7248); a Magian, i.e. Oriental scientist; by implication, a magician:--sorcerer, wise man."

In this case, the term refers to the 'magis' or "worshippers of stars and fire from the east"! So, Sajita is actually trying to prove the deity of her 'man-god' by the testimony of pagans!

The other word 4352 - Greek proskuneo  pros-koo-neh'-o, which means:

from 4314 and a probable derivative of 2965 (meaning to kiss, like a dog licking his master's hand); to fawn or crouch to, i.e. (literally or figuratively) prostrate oneself in homage (do reverence to, adore):--worship.

So, Ms. Sajita has mixed up pagan worship while trying to prove the deity of her man-god!

Again we see that when Jesus rose up from the dead and appeared before His disciples, they worshipped Him.

And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them.

Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven.

And they worshipped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. (Luke 24:50-52)

Ms. Sajita tries again to prove that the word 4352 -Greek "proskuneo"- means to worship as in the act of worshiping God! Another failed attempt by her since this very word means all the above-referenced meanings; but it would be much more interesting to note the abuse of word games employed by some Christians whereby the intended meaning of the word is made to disappear at well!

Let us see what real 'worship' means in Greek from the following NT verse:

Mat 15:9 But in vain they do worship4576 me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Greek 4576 σέβομαι sebomai seb'-om-ahee:

Middle voice of an apparently primary verb; to revere, that is, adore: - devout, religious, worship.

The Greek word "sebomai" (# 4576) means the real worship, whereas the word "proskuneo" (# 4352) means to fall down in homage or in respect, not in worship as one would worship God! We are all aware of the history of the compilation and forgeries of the NT books, so is it any wonder that a meaning gets abused to satisfy someone's godmas?!

2.   Jesus was worshipped by demons

Bible very clearly says that demons and those who had unclean spirits worshipped Jesus. We read in Mark 3:11, "And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw Him, fell down before Him and cried out, saying, "You are the Son of God."

In Mark 5th chapter we see about a demon possessed person, when he saw Jesus, he came running and worshipped Him as we read in Mark 5:6-7

"When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshipped Him."

And he cried out with a loud voice and said, "What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me." (Mark 5:6-7)

So, Sajita tries again to resort to demons and evil spirits for the proof of her man-god's deity! Not only she resorts to the same "wrong" meaning of the Greek word # 4352 but also hangs to dear life with the silly notion of 'son of God' meaning 'God'! Let us see what Greek word is used for "son" in the Mark 5:7?

Greek 5207 υἱός uihos hwee-os'

Apparently a primary word; a “son” (sometimes of animals), used very widely of immediate, remote or figurative kinship: - child, foal, son.

As you can all see, the word "uihos" does not give any divine titles to the one called by it; it merely means what the Lexicon said above -'son', 'child', 'foal'; but never any divinity is implied with it!

3.   Jesus was worshipped by Angels and heavenly hosts

Jesus was worshipped by angels and heavenly hosts - Revelation 7:10, "and crying out with a loud voice, saying,

"Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!" All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshipped God, saying: "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honor and power and might, Be to our God forever and ever. Amen." (Revelation 7:11-12)

I have to laugh at the above, is Sajita serious or kidding us?! Can't she even read the modern English of the above verses? Let me remind her of the real words in context:

Rev 7:9 After these things I saw, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, arrayed in white robes, and palms in their hands;

Rev 7:10 and they cry with a great voice, saying, Salvation unto our God who sitteth on the throne, and unto the Lamb.

Rev 7:11 And all the angels were standing round about the throne, and about the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,

Rev 7:12 saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

Rev 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, These that are arrayed in white robes, who are they, and whence came they?

Rev 7:14 And I say unto him, My lord, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they that come of the great tribulation, and they washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Rev 7:15 Therefore are they before the throne of God; and they serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall spread his tabernacle over them.

Rev 7:16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun strike upon them, nor any heat:

Rev 7:17 for the Lamb that is in the midst of the throne shall be their shepherd, and shall guide them unto fountains of waters of life: and God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes.

Another lie by Sajita exposed! If we were to take Revelation seriously, that is! The salvation is unto God AND the lamb, the worship is for God, not for the lamb!

The Bible also says in Revelation 5:13-14,

"And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: "Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!"

"Then the four living creatures said, "Amen!" And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshipped Him who lives forever and ever." (Revelation 5:13-14)

Now the question arises, if Jesus is not God then why did He allow people, demons heavenly hosts and angels to worship Him?

Answer: Jesus did not allow people to worship him! The words used for 'worship' in Jesus' case are mere words indicating 'homage' and 'respect' due to a prophet of God, the verses of Revelation do not claim that the multitude worshiped Jesus, do they, Ms. Integrity?!

Once Paul went to Lystra and there was a certain man sitting having no strength in his feet, a cripple from his mother's womb, who had never walked. This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed, said with a loud voice, "Stand up straight on your feet!" And he leaped and walked. (Acts 14:8-10)

Now when the people saw what Paul had done, they raised their voices, saying in the Lycaonian language, "The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!"

And Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the chief speaker.

Then the priest of Zeus, whose temple was in front of their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, intending to sacrifice with the multitudes.

But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying out

and saying, "Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them,

"who in bygone generations allowed all nations to walk in their own ways.

"Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness."

And with these sayings they could scarcely restrain the multitudes from sacrificing to them. (Acts 14:11-18)

Paul and Barnabas tried to desist them from worshipping them while Jesus never denied to be worshipped. And we read another instance in Revelation 19:10, "And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

Another deceptive attempt by Sajita to persuade the reader! The story of Paul & Barnabas is not the same as that of Jesus! In Jesus' case, people fell at his feet in homage while in the case of the apostles people -being pagans- echoed what Sajita is trying to tell us, i.e. that gods have come down in the form of men!! In the case of the apostles, the crowds & priest tried to sacrifice animals; they did not fall down and worship Paul & Barnabas!! Sajita is EXPOSED once again.

John tried to worship the angel but the angel said, "see that you do not do that!" and asked him to worship God. Why? Because there is none who is worthy to be worshipped except God. And because Jesus is God, He was worshipped by people, demons, angels and heavenly hosts.

Sajita insists on her deception and she has to be reminded that this tactic only works with the feeble-minded! For Jesus himself had a God that he worshiped and called all to worship; let us EXPOSE Sajita by telling her some choice verses from her own NT books attributed to none other than Jesus himself (KJV):

Mat 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Joh 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. 4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. 6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. 7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. 8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received [them], and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. 10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. 11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we [are].

Joh 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and [to] my God, and your God.

Rev 3:1 And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars: I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and thou art dead. Rev 3:2 Be thou watchful, and establish the things that remain, which were ready to die: for I have found no works of thine perfected before my God. Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and didst hear; and keep it, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Rev 3:4 But thou hast a few names in Sardis that did not defile their garments: and they shall walk with me in white; for they are worthy. Rev 3:5 He that overcometh shall thus be arrayed in white garments; and I will in no wise blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Rev 3:6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. Rev 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth and none shall shut, and that shutteth and none openeth: Rev 3:8 I know thy works (behold, I have set before thee a door opened, which none can shut), that thou hast a little power, and didst keep my word, and didst not deny my name. Rev 3:9 Behold, I give of the synagogue of Satan, of them that say they are Jews, and they are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. Rev 3:10 Because thou didst keep the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of trial, that hour which is to come upon the whole world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Rev 3:11 I come quickly: hold fast that which thou hast, that no one take thy crown. Rev 3:12 He that overcometh, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out thence no more: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God, and mine own new name. Rev 3:13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.

Are we to believe Sajita or the words attributed to Jesus in her own NT? It seems Sajita is so deceptive and intent on worshiping a man-god in vain that she will stop at nothing short of lying and deceiving others!

End of part 1, more to come....
