| The Nuremberg Code of 1947, which enunciates the essential requirement of voluntary informed consent of the human subject. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Helsinki Declaration of 1964, which established principles for carrying out biomedical research involving human subjects.
