Raven's Escape By:MaryanneChristian Raven Was not your typical teenager. Raven was different. She found out early in life that it's not wat it appears to be. She would rebel against all situations if she could take advantage. It gave her the saticfation of someting she could not accomplish on her own, a sence of power. Kids were afraid of her, teenagers hated her and adults wish she never existed. But to me she was my bestfriend. Raven and I had a lot in common. We held the same perspectives on life. One thing we didn't have in common was Raven had a dark secret. She didn't have to tell me she had one, I could see it in her eyes, it never escaped her dark eyes. We would talk for hours about complex but useless topics. Ones that would make us think, and the outside world would laugh in our face. I can recall the day Ravens mother left her and we went onto the docks, she was out of control. Raven jumped into the water and started to panic and I swear she was trying to kill herself. I jumped in after her and draged her onto shore. She started laughing, I will never forget the feeling I had in the pit of my stomach. Not a word was ever spoken that night. Raven was in a place I could not reach, and that was the last time we shared togeather. As I approched the graveyard a week later, I wish I could turn back the hands of time. When I walked toward her lifeless corps and tried to wake her up she didn't. Was that her secret? She could never live to be happy? Was taking her own life, her only way to escape? The days whent on, and now whenever I see a raven bird fly above me in the sky, I think of her and she is telling me she is free of this world.
