FRANCE!

FRANCE!

Kyung Min Park

Although France was a winner in the World War I and II, France suffered extensive losses in its empire, wealth, manpower, and rank as a dominant nation-state. Nevertheless, France today is one of the most modern countries in the world and is a leader among European nations. France is located on Western Europe, around Belgium, Spain, Italy and Spain. The population is 60,876,136 and all people use French as their language. French people get educated without paying any money, and do not go to universities as much as Korean people do.

The capital of France is Paris and there are the most attractions of France. These two examples are the most famous places: Eiffel Tower and Louvre Museum.

First, Eiffel Tower, Tour Eiffel, is the symbol of Paris and is a landmark of the city. It was built by Gustave Eiffel for the World Exhibition of 1889 and it was never meant to be a permanent attraction and become a landmark. Since the figures are impressive, such as the fact that it weights 7000 tons. Louvre Museum, Musee du Louvre, is the world's largest museum and one of the world's greatest art collections in the world. The most interesting part of this museum is that the main entrance is made by a pyramid, and it is always crowded even if it is not the only entrance.

As I said above French people love arts, and also music. The country boasts a wide variety of indigenous folk music. In the field of classical music, France has produced a number of legendary composers, while modern pop music has seen the rise of popular French rock, hip hop, techno/funk, and pop performers. The most famous folk song is from the area by the south side of France. As traditional instrument, ˇ°Cistreˇ±, is something like a guitar. Also, there is ˇ°Bombardeˇ±, a wooden traverse flute, a double reed woodwind instrument.
