England’s
Glorious Revolution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Declaration of
the rights of man and the citizen all have checks and balances. All 3 things
were either a cabinet or on their way to a cabinet as well as a democracy.
Also, cruel and unusual punishments, excessive fines, and excessive bail were
abolished. All 3 happened because people were unhappy with the way their
countries were run and unhappy with their government. More rights were given to
the people and they had more freedom. Every person was born with natural rights
which could not be taken away. All 3 were in favor of the people.
All 3 also
have differences. The Glorious Revolution still let there be a monarchy in Britain,
but it was a limited Monarchy. The governments of the United States and France were not a monarchy. They
people of Britain
still had freedom and natural rights, but not as many as the people of the
Unites States. Right away the people of the U.S.
could vote and choose their governments while Britain was still a monarchy. In
the U.S. if the government
is not doing a good job or they are not protecting people’s natural rights, the
people of the United States
have the right to overthrow the government. The people of Britain had many rights, but the people of the United States were the best off compared to France and Britain.
England’s
Glorious Revolution happened first and that had an affect on the Declaration of
Independence, which had an affect on the Declaration of the rights of man and
the citizen. The stuff such as rights that came out of the Glorious Revolution
of England went into the United States Constitution. The United States
Constitution has many of the same things that Britain has they are just altered a
little bit to be as good as possible. The American Revolution, which was the
cause of the Declaration of Independence, happened to get away from Britain. The
Declaration of the Rights of man and the Citizen happened because of the U.S.
Constitution. The French Declaration is almost identical to the United States
Constitution. The French saw how affective and good the U.S. Constitution was
so the French decided to make one of their own. Since the U.S. Constitution is
similar to that of Britain’s,
the French’s is as well.
