Facts 1-9
- The
Iliad and the Odyssey are epic poems that written by Homer. They tell
stories about what life was like in Greece
and Rome.
- Because
there were so many mountains that divided up the peninsula, Greece had
many little individual cities instead of one big empire together.
- The
Spartan males trained ever since they were little and their job was war
and battle. The women’s job was to have a strong and healthy boy.
- Noble
landowners held power and chose the chief officials. The leader made
reforms and economic changes to make the people of Athens happier and live a better life.
- The
Persians destroyed the rebel cities. When the Persians tried to attack the
Athenians, the Persians retreated. Athens
won the overall war and were now very powerful.

war ended the greatness of Athens as Sparta captured and
destroyed it.
