Some refer to Glacier National Park as Glaciation National Park because it was the glaciation by glaciers of the last ice-age that gave it its name, not because of the 30 odd small glaciers still there. In fact, in the near future, these will become snowfields. This has been occurring even now. The Swiftcurrent Glacier is now stop moving and become Swiftcurrent Snowfield.
