The STORY A work by Rumiko Takahashi, Inuyasha: Sengoku O-Togi Zoushi (Inuyasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale) basically tells the story of a young school girl transported to another time (past) and place. The story may at first sounds like a plot that has been used so many times in manga and anime, but Rumiko Takahashi gives Inuyasha a bit of a twist. The story basically, revolves around a powerful jewel called the Shikon no Tama (Jewel of the Four Souls), in which the 15-year old heroine, Kagome 'unsuspectingly' possesses. This jewel apparently can make both youkai (demons) and ningen (humans) powerful. One of these demons, is the hanyou (half-demon) Inuyasha, who at first wants to kill the girl so he can have the jewel. In an unfortunate accident, the jewel broke into numerous shards and scattered into different places. Unwillingly, Inuyasha helped Kagome gather the scattered fragments. On their journey, they meet new friends -- a young Kitsune (fox) youkai Shippou, the Buddhist Monk Miroku, and the Taijiya [Exterminator] Sango -- who joined the party. With the same goal, it is up to Kagome (the only person who can see/detect the shards), Inuyasha and their friends -- Miroku, Sango, Shippou -- to find all the pieces before it falls into the wrong hands and to defeat the evil Naraku who also wants the jewel.
