1. If the first method has failed on downloading, please verify that you are connected to your Internet Service Provider.

2. You will first need to click on your Windows "Start" button.

3. Find and click on "Run" in the Windows Start Menu.

4. Backspace over anything in the "Run" window.

5. Type the word "command" (or cmd) in the "Run" window and click on "Ok" or just press the Enter key on the keyboard.

6. You will now be in a black DOS window showing "C:\>" with a blinking cursor

7. Please type the following commands as they appear listed below at the prompt.

ftp ftp.netscape.com (press the enter key)

anonymous (When it asks for user name) (press enter key)

(press the enter key) (When it asks for password)

cd pub (press enter key)

cd communicator (press enter key)

cd english (press enter key)

cd 4.77 (press enter key)

cd windows (press enter key)

cd windows95_or_nt (press enter key)

cd complete_install (press enter key)

binary (press enter key) (should reply: "type set to I")

hash (press enter key) (should reply: "Hash mark printing on....")

get cc32d477.exe (press enter key) (should reply: [opening port... and lots of ### signs)

8. When the download has finished you should see the message "File transfer successful" or "File transfer complete" and a blank "ftp>" prompt.

9. At the "ftp>" you will need to type the word "bye" and (press enter).

10. At the "C:\" prompt and you will to type the word "exit" and (press enter)

You can now install Netscape 4.77 by clicking on cc32d477.exe on your desktop.
