Return to Activity page York Hospital EOC Tour For our March monthly meeting we met at the York Hospital EOC (Emergency Operations Center). This was a real treat. We could not take pictures this time but maybe in the future if security is not compromised. York Hospital may be the only hospital in the region with a dedicated EOC area. the room is almost complete at this point. There is a great HAM rig (HF, 2m, 70cm), computer stations and an Incident Command location. There is also a situation room where command can go to get a way from the commotion if needed. We also saw the DECON room where patients coming in from a contamination incident literally get "hosed" down before receiving further medical care. AWESOME! |

UPDATE ****** York County REACT joined forces with Highway Watch in March 2007. Some members took the awareness level training and received a membership number. However, in 2008 the US Dept of Hoemland Security stopped funding the Highway Watch program. We are waiting to see what replaces it. |
