York County REACT #6123 joined forces with the Southern PA Communications Group (SPCG) and York County Fire Police to provide event communications for the parade We had a great time and we got a free meal out of it along with some valuable air time and lessons. Stan Walters, President (Unit 56) along with VP Doug (Unit 58) and team members Brenda (Unit 57) and Bill (Unit ??) took part Bill was actually driving one of York County's HAZMAT trucks in the parade! Net Control for the event was dual licensed Amateur and GMRS so Unit 56 and 57 used the club 2 meter repeater while unit 58 and 56 communicated using the team's GMRS repeater. Unit 56 relayed most reports to net control but on one occassion net control called Unit 58 direct on the GMRS repeater. The GMRS repeater worked flawlessly. It was a good real world test.
We forgot the camera so we did not get any action shots but Stan and Doug took this relaxing pose with Mobile 56 after the parade. Thanks to the SPCG for the invitation to help.
