One day in the
fall, I was at the rescue, Hope was outside
in the sunshine to enjoy
the weather. She was still so shakey,
struggling thru the heartworm treatment. Kerry's husband Rick
walked Hope outside a bit every day.
At this time, we only felt Hope had been
abused by a woman, the way she reacted to Kerry, but would calm down
for Rick. She wanted to be near him. We had no idea at the
time she was brain damaged, completely deaf and pretty-near blind.
She could not hear or see us. Everything Hope did was a spontaneous
reaction. Hope's motor nerves worked, but her brain waves were most
likely flat. Hope could never have had a normal existance, no quality
of life.
