The Yukon! Where there are strange things done in the Midnight Sun...and where one will find some of the most beautiful wilderness in Canada.

I had the good fortune of spending two and a half months there in 1987 canoeing the South MacMillan, Pelly, Yukon and Big Salmon Rivers, then going north to Old Crow to watch the Caribou migrate. It was one of the best times of my life and since then I wanted to get back there sooner than later.

Unfortunately, it was later. It took until the summer of 1998, eleven years later, before I returned. My crowning trip though when I cycled the Dempster Highway from Inuvik to Dawson City in 1999.

As these photos attest (coming later), the Yukon is wild and beautiful, but they only offer a glimse into why it is one of my favourite places on Earth. To truly appreciate the splendour of the Yukon, one must see it for oneself--and as up close as possible.
