ENTRIES ACCEPTED ONLY BY MAIL. Entries will be accepted first come, first served, based on postmark. Entries which are incomplete or postmarked before the opening date will be returned. Use one copy of 2002 RMDS entry form for each horse and each show. Entries postmarked after the close date for the show will be accepted, if ride times are available, with a fee of $10.00 per horse per show. AHSA Non-Member fee (if applicable) $15.00; AHSA Breed/Discipline Fee (if applicable) $5.00. EACH entry for EACH show should include: check, copy of applicable membership cards (cards for Owner, Trainer, Rider, and Horse), stabling information, current Coggins (within the last 12 months), and entry forms signed in blue ink.MAIL ENTRIES TO:Grand Valley Dressage Society, 702 Arrowest Rd., Grand Junction, CO 81505. MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO: Grand Valley Dressage Society SHOW OFFICE: Will be open from 3:00 – 6:00 PM on the day prior to the start of the show and 1 hour prior to first class each day of the show; as well as 30 minutes following the last ride each day. REFUNDS: No refunds after closing date, unless veterinarian certificate is provided and ride is sold. Prior to closing date, stabling refunded less set-up fee of $4.00, unless filled. After closing date, office fee and stabling fee are non-refundable. NSF: $10.00 charge on non-sufficient fund checks. SCHEDULING: Final schedule may vary depending on number of entries received. The show committee reserves the right to cancel, combine, or split classes; to change arenas; to limit the number of rides per rider to facilitate the schedule. Management reserves the right to refuse any entry. RIDE TIMES: Local riders notified by phone or email. Out of town riders notified by mail (enclose a self addressed stamped envelope with entry), or by email if address is enclosed with entry. No long distance calls will be made. Ride times are tentative. Official times posted day of show at Show Office. TIES: In the event of a tie in the total points of a test, the horse/rider combination with the highest collective marks will be placed above the other horse/rider combination(s). If the tie continues to be unbroken, the judge will make the determination on placing. STABLING: $15.00 per night, 12’ x 12’ permanent stalls with doors. NO BEDDING IS PROVIDED. Please bring your own bedding. Current Coggins (within the last 12 months) required. Day stalls and tack stalls may be requested at the same price. CAMPING: Limited number of hook-ups are available on the show grounds for $10 per night. Please note on entry form if one is needed. First come, first served. SHOW/WARM-UP ARENAS: Competition arena is 20 m x 60 m covered arena with sand and dirt footing. Warm-up arena is outdoor sand footing. PLEASE NOTE: competition arena through Training Level may be 20 m x 40 m except Q classes. Arena open until 1:00 PM on the day prior to the start of the show. Hand walking permitted during breaks. LUNGEING in designated areas at posted times only. No lungeing in warm-up arena 1 hour prior to start of show until last ride of each day is completed. AWARDS: For the Spring Shows and the Western Slope Championship Open Show ribbons through sixth. For Spring Show II Championship and Reserve for Training through Fourth Levels awarded to highest average score with a minimum of 2 tests and 55% or better average (FEI 1 test required). FOOD: Concessions will be available on grounds. DOGS must be leashed. VET/FARRIER will be on call, numbers posted at Show Office. MEDICAL PERSONNEL will be on show grounds. 1. Classes designated Western Slope Championship classes will be open ONLY to individual horse/rider combinations meeting the following criteria:
2. The scores must have been accumulated at the level and in the division that the horse/rider combination would like to show. 3. The horse/rider combination may qualify to ride in the Championship classes by receiving a qualifying score on Saturday, August 31, 2002, as long as they already have one (1) qualifying score from a previous show. 4. All entries that wish to ride in a Western Slope Championship class at any level must enter the class on or before the closing date for entries. This includes those riders that intend to earn their final qualifying score at the competition or a competition to be held after the closing date. Refunds will be given for Western Slope Championship classes if unable to qualify at the show less $20. 5. Horse/rider combinations may compete in Western Slope Championship classes at a maximum of 2 sequential levels. 6. The minimum qualifying scores for each level shall be:
DIRECTIONS: From East of Grand Junction: Take I-70 Westbound to Exit 37 (Clifton, I-70 Business Loop Exit) and proceed South to the second stop light (32 Rd, Hwy 141) and turn left. Stay on this road until it ends at the junction with Highway 50 (approxi-mately 5-6 miles). At this junction, turn right and proceed 3.5 miles on Highway 50. You will see the Intermountain Veterans Memorial Park (the Fairgrounds) on your left. At the Fairgrounds sign, enter and immediately turn left and follow the road towards the barns. From West of Grand Junction: Take I-70 Eastbound to Exit 26. Turn right off the exit ramp onto Highway 6 & 50. Stay on Highway 50 as it winds through town. Turn right at Fifth Street at the sign for Highway 50 to Delta. Follow Fifth Street as it goes over the Colorado River and continue 2.3 miles. You will see Intermountain Veterans Memorial Park (the Fairgrounds) on your right. At the Fairgrounds sign, enter and immediately turn left and follow the road towards the barns. Each exhibitor shall hold the Grand Valley Dressage Spring Shows, its directors, employees, and the Intermountain Veterans Memorial Park harmless for any accident to a spectator, participant, horse, or equipment, which may occur from sickness, fire, theft, or otherwise.
