Potomac Cruise

The following pics were taken during some of our recent boat trips on the Potomac River near Washington, D.C.. Surprisingly, this river is comparatively clean and provides up to class II whitewater as well as some excellent wilderness campsites, only minutes of driving distance from the U.S. capital.

The wildlife of the area inspired the curiosity of our crew.

Unfortunately, one member of the local fauna did not survive the encounter with our youngest fisherman.

This remarkable catfish finally ended in the depths of our stomachs.

Another surprising discovery was this cabin, obviously left behind by the receding waters of the January flood.

The calm waters of the C&O Canal helped us to return to our put-in site.
