All visitor centers in the park have a selection of books, video tapes and poster for sale. These are the places to go to get books about Yellowstone.

Gift Shops and General stores are located in all built up areas in the park. All of the motels and hotels in the park also have Gift Shops. The Gift Shops in the motels and hotels are run by Yellowstone National Park Lodges. The free standing General Stores, Gift Shops and Photo Shops are run by Hamilton Stores.

All souvenir shops run by Yellowstone National Park Lodges have almost exactly the same merchandise. The same is true of all of the Hamilton Stores Gift Shops. Thus, once you've visited one Yellowstone National Park Lodges souvenir shop and one Hamilton Stores Gift shop, you have seen about all that is available in the park other than at the park Visitor Centers.

The Hamilton Stores General Stores are very useful. Besides selling food and ice, they have a selection of almost anything you may have forgotten to bring on your trip. This includes everything from bug repellent to sleeping bags to cameras and binoculars. They also have decent food and great ice cream at their lunch counters.

The store with the most interesting architecture is the lower store at Old Faithful. It is located next to the Old Faithful Inn.
