BE PREPARED

Oh, be prepared, prepared, prepeared.
The motto of the Boy Scouts.
Oh, be prepared, prepared, prepeared.
The motto of the Scouts!
Prepared, prepared, the motto of a good Scout
Prepared, prepared, the motto of a Scout.

TRAIL THE EAGLE

Trail the eagle, trail the eagle,
Climbing all the time.
First the star, and then the life,
Will on your bosom shine.
Keep climbing!
Blaze the trail and we will follow.
Hark! The Eagles call.
On, brothers, on until we're
Eagles all.

FOLLOW ME, BOYS!

Chorus:
Follow me, boys, follow me!
When you think you're really beat
That's the time to lift your feet
And follow me, Boys, follow me.
Pick'em up, put'em down
And follow me.
Pick'em up, Put'em down,
Pick'em up.

There's a job to do,
There's a fight to win,
Follow me, boys, follow me!
And it won't be done,
'Till we all pitch in,
Lift your chin with a grin,
And follow me.

CHORUS

It's a long, long climb,
But we've got the will,
Follow me, boys, follow me!
When we reach the top,
Then it's all down hill,
Till you drop, don't stop,
And follow me.

CHORUS

Tho' the journey's end,
Is beyond our sight,
Follow me, boys, follow me!
If we do our best,
Then we've done all right!
Pack your load, hit the road,
And follow me!

CHORUS

FRIENDS WE ARE

Friends we are
And friends we'll ever be,
Wherever we are,
Wherever we may be.
Scouting friends we'll always be
Through all eternity.

I'M GLAD I'M A BOY SCOUT

Gee, I'm glad I'm a Boy Scout, Yes, I am.
Gee, I'm glad I'm a Boy Scout, Yes, I am.
I'd rather wear the fleur de lis
Than be the king of Italy.
Gee, I'm glad I'm a Boy Scout, Yes, I am.

GOOD NIGHT SCOUTERS

Goodnight Scouters!
Goodnight Scouters!
Goodnight Scouters!
We're going to leave you now
Merrily we roll along,
Roll along, roll along
Merrily we roll along
O'er the deep blue sea.

HIKING

Over hill, over dale,
We will hit the greenwood trail,
As the Boy Scouts go hiking along.
In and out, all around,
You will never see us frown,
As the Boy Scouts go hiking along.
And it's Hi! Hi! Hee!
The BSA for me.
Shout out your name and shout it strong.
Where'er we go, you will always know,
That the Boy Scouts go hiking along.

ON MY HONOR

On my honor I'll do my best,
To do my duty to God.
On my honor I'll do my best,
To serve my country as I may.
On my honor I'll do my best,
To do a good turn each day.
To keep my body strengthened,
And keep my mind awakened.
To follow paths of righteousness,
On my honor I'll do my best.

COVER OF SCOUTING NEWS

(with apologies to Dr. Hook)

tune: Cover of the Rolling Stone

Well, we're Boy Scout Leaders,
We got broken fingers,
And we hike every where we go.
We tie a lot of knots,
And lash a lot of poles,
And help a lot of Boy Scouts grow.
We got all kinds of skills,
That make all kinds of thrills,
But the thrill we'll never know.
Is the thrill that will get you
When you get your picture
On the cover of the Scouting News

Chorus:
Scouting News,
Want to see my picture on the cover
News
Want to buy 5 copies for my mother
News
Want to see my smiling face
On the cover of the Scouting News

We gotta grumpy old Scouter,
Who prevents lots of disasters,
And is kind and courteous and clean
We got a gen-u-ine Scout Exec,
Driving a lim-o-zine.
Well, its all designed to blow your mind,
But your mind won't really be blown
'Til the blow that will get you,
When you get your picture
On the cover of the Scouting News

CHORUS

We gotta lot of little Blue-eyed Scouts
Who ignore everything we say.
We gotta Ass't District Commissner
Teaching us the Scouting way.
We got all the training, the Council will buy,
So we can hike the Scouting trail
And the troop keeps on camping,
But we can't get out picture
On the cover of the Scouting News

CHORUS

PHILMONT HYMN

Silver on the sage, star lit skies above.
Aspen covered hills, country that I love.
Philmont here's to thee, Scouting paradise.
Out in God's country tonight,
Wind in whispering pines.
Eagle soaring high.
Purple mountains rise,
Against an azure sky.
Philmont here's to thee, Scouting paradise,
Out in God's country tonight.

ROBERT BADEN-POWELL

Robert Baden-Powell has many Scouts,
Many Scouts has Robert Baden-Powell.
I am one of them, and so are you.
Let me show you what to do.
Right hand, left hand,
Right foot, left foot,
Turn around, nod your head.

SCOUT HEARTED MEN

tune: Stout-Hearted Men

Give me some men, who are Scout hearted men,
Who will fight for the right they adore.
Start me with ten, who are Scout hearted men,
And I'll soon give you ten thousand more.
Oh! Shoulder to shoulder and bolder and bolder
They grow as they go on the fore!
Then, there's nothing in the world can halt or mar the plan
When Scout hearted men can stick together man to man!

SCOUTMASTER'S HYMN

On top of Old Smokey, all covered with snow.
I learned a great lesson, all people should know.
I met a scoutmaster, a helper of youth.
He was roaming God's mountains, in search of the truth.
He told me he found it, in the red sunset' glow.
In the voice of the thunder, in the touch of the snow.
His truth was quite simple, as plain as could be.
I'll never forget what that leader told me.
Do your duty to God, to the red, white, and blue.
To all others be helpful, and to thine own self be true.

SMILES

There are smiles that make us happy
There are smiles that make us blue.
There are smiles
That steal away the teardrop,
As the sunbeams steal away the dew.
There are smiles
That have a tender meaning
That the eyes of love alone may see
And the smiles
That fill my life with sunshine
Are the smiles that you give to me.

TAPS

Day is done, gone the sun,
From the lake, from the hills,
From the sky.
All is well, safely rest,
God is nigh.
