Colorado:family,friends,recreation,and home.

Here are some pics of my pals and activites I take delight in. Colorado is a beautiful place and the recreational opportunities and social outlets are numerous. I've made so many good friends and have created so many fun memories since moving here in '93. Having over 300 days of sunshine a year is a bonus too.

Airborne Activity

On final to Jefferson County Airport with the Flatirons of Boulder in the background.Being a private pilot allows many captivating views like this.

Two of the first people I met when I moved to Colorado. Tim in the front seat,Ted behind. They are at Aurora Airpark in an '46 Aeronca Champ. This is a fun stick and rudder plane to fly.Ted is a pilot for Continental now.

From the left; Tim, me, and Ted leaning on an old T-34 military trainer at Centennial Airport in Arapahoe County. Ted and Tim are both Certified Flight Instructors and have helped me hone my pilot skills.

It's always fun to take friends up in a plane. My friends Melisa, on left, and Anita are climbing in for a tour of Denver and the Front Range with me at Centennial Airport.

Just after launch at Green Mountain Reservoir in the Rocky Mountains near Silverthorne, Colorado. At two thousand feet above the landing zone it is exhilerating! YAHOO!

A good instruction method using a dolly. A rope is attached with weak links to the pilot and other end on winch driven spool in flat bed. Rope is metered out or slackened depending as the instructor sees fit. This method is easier because students do not have to carry their gliders up small hills to practice.

Head for the slopes

My first snowboard lesson with friends Tim and Michele. The body took a beating after falling down all day. But, once the coordination picked up it was fun despite the swollen forearm from breaking my falls. Look out.........I can't turn.

Enjoying the skiing at Loveland along with the spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains on a spring day with from left;Melisa,Sally,Tommy H. and me.

Cycling

Michele and I during a training ride to the summit of Squaw Pass. About an 18 mile hill climb. Invigorating. I couldn't have had a better room mate for the two years we shared a townhouse.
