In Rememberance of Daniel L. Beer
The Members and Committee of Troop 26, Heidelberg, Germany
are sad to announce that for the second time in the last 13 months,
our Troop has lost an extraordinary scout.
Saturday, 30 March 1996, marks the passing of a model scout.
Dan was a Life Scout with Troop 26 in Heidelberg, Germany.
He was well on his way to accomplishing Eagle when he was
diagnosed with Leukemia. Dan was scheduled to go camping with
the troop the day he received the news.
Dan received the best of care. He was the son of a career Army
Officer. Within hours of the diagnosis, he was evacuated to Walter
Reed Medical Center. Dan enjoyed a brief period of remission and
during this time, he completed the merit badges required for Eagle and
was working on his Eagle project when he suffered a relapse.
Death came swiftly and peacefully for Dan. We miss you and wish
you could be back with Troop 26. We know you and David McKee are
in a better place.
Daniel L. Beer - May 26, 1981 - March 30, 1996. Doing his Duty to God.
