Heidelberg, Germany (S&S) - One American teen-ager was killed and four others teens from the the Heidelberg military community were injured when their car collided with a truck just outside the city, according to a statement released Sunday by the 26th Area Support Group Public Affairs.

A passenger, 13 year old David McKee, was pronounced dead at the scene by a German doctor at 7 p.m. Saturday.

----------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------

David McKee was a member of Troop 26, Patrick Henry Village, Heidelberg, Germany. David was an A student, devout Christian and an Eagle Scout. David had earned his Eagle rank in August of the previous year. He had met most of his scouting goals, but had not gained entrance into the Order of the Arrow. If only David had known, he was elected by his peers scarcely two weeks prior to his untimely death. His 14 year old Eagle Scout and Arrowman brother, Jesse, would stand in his brother's place and take his ordeal.

David was a good scout. He already knew that his father had been reassigned to Korea and he would be spending his last spring in Heidelberg. He was to go with his father and his brother to hike the Alps around the International Scout Camp in Kandersteg, Switzerland that May.

We miss you David, and still wish you were with us at Troop 26. The Scout Hut we met together at is now named for you so we never forget.

David Edward McKee, 1982-1995, Doing his duty to God.
