Guides - Mt. Arayat Itinerary
Mt. Arayat, Pampanga, Philippines
(elevation 1,125 meters) Day 1
From Monumento to Arayat: 32 pesos via air-conditioned bus. From Arayat to Bgy. Ayala: Jeeps that can comfortably seat 10 persons plus their backpacks are available for charter for 200 pesos. Ask the driver to fetch you the next day. Side trip: Before returning to Manila, have lunch at Jurado's at the corner of Espino Ave. and Manapat St. in Arayat. Try their bianda; a spicy dish of chicken and cabbage sautéed in soy sauce, and served on a sizzling plate. Ask for halo-halo for dessert. A refreshing treat made with shaved ice, milk, gelatin, sweet corn kernels, jelly bean paste (cooked for 10 hours), and halayang gatas ng kalabaw (carabao milk custard). After lunch just cross Espino Ave. to the Santiago Express bus waiting to take you back to Manila. Originally Published on the Meralco Mountaineers Website Other links on this site:
